Maybe it's just me, but I don't really equate "sad" and "depressing". There are some incredibly beautiful sad songs mentioned here, but I don't find them depressing. Or it could be the meds. Via Chicago, Reservations, and now On&On&On and Patient with Me come to mind. They're just breathtakingly sad IMO, and they will just stop me in my tracks when I listen to them. As for the flip side, I think Walken is probably one of the happiest little love songs I've heard since The Beatles.

My lovely bride of 19 years (as of next monday, thank you very much) and I will be there. never been to this venue; looks great though. third row of orch section - ya just gotta love them pre-sales. no clue on attire. will keep an eye out for plaid, scarves, and small human windmills... looking forward to a great time. love the setlists from europe so far.. then again, what's not to like.

I was kinda surprised to see that today also. It wasn't in any ad that I saw. Usually Circuit City or Target or someone will have it in there, and BB as well, on the weekend before the release. Wilco's not THAT obscure. I'll bet the Eagles' releases all get advertised.... Alas.

Tunis has always been a pretty big Wilco fan. KTV and Mobile have been on his Pick's before, and he's had some good reviews of the shows in LVL and Cinci lately. I expected to see SBS as his pick this morning in the paper... it's amazing, but everybody here still goes "who?" when you mention Wilco.
