Wonder if this will end up online to check out at all. A couple of months ago there was a song by song covering of YHF by Chicago artists that was also really good.

So it seems like jeff’s comments about not feeling the need to vary the set lists that much wasn’t just talk?

I just can't imagine that they would do two tours of europe and a nearly two month trek in the US without any hometown shows! Although to be honest, that kind of thing probably doesn't factor into their decisions at all. I'm slowly coming to grips with the fact that I likely won't see them until Mexico, which is just too damn far away to be satisfying.

Only 46 dates listed on their tour page too (Mexico not listed on the map), wonder if that means we’re getting 5 Midwest shows? Wishful thinking probably, but fun speculating!

I've seen well over 30 shows, plus 20+ Jeff shows and with almost all of those coming in Chicago, there really isn't anything that they've done live that I haven't seen. That said, I've only seen Pieholden Suite maybe 3 times (2x Wilco, 1x Jeff), which is not nearly enough. Would be cool if Chicago/Milwaukee dates got announced sometime! I don't want to have to wait until SBS in January to see them again while everyone else in the country/Europe (save for the west coast) gets their shot!

Ugh as a completist, I absolutely hate stuff like this. As a Wilco fan, I love that there will be another new song to search out.

Schedule is out! Kind of sucks that Dr. Dog is headlining the third night and Jeff is playing an afternoon beach set since I’m guessing that means it’s him solo and not with a band. But overall, very exciting! Now I just need to buy some PJs for the theme night haha.

I thought it was great that he stayed away from Wilco. With three albums under his belt, he’s got plenty of material to fill a 1:45 set, especially mixing some covers in.

Great night, I really enjoyed Ohmme. I kind of wish that Jeff would make Tweedy a going concern, kind of like Trey Anastasio Band or Jerry Garcia Band, his solo songs sound much better with a full band. What was the Doug Sahm song they did?

I know Jeff did some spec production work with him for the new album, would love to see him take on a Silver Jews or Purple Mountains song on Saturday in tribute.

He sounded so hopeful and borderline happy in all the press he was doing for the new album too. This just bums me out so damn much. I was so happy that he was back and now he’s gone forever.

That's what I loved about the original Chicago residency and Winterlude, so much variety, so many deep cuts! I was hoping that the relative lack of diversity in 2017 was an aberration, but that doesn't appear to be the case unfortunately. Hopefully the three Mexico shows will at least be repeat-free!

When I saw the tweet about being made in Chicago I got really excited that they were announcing Chicago dates finally! Then I read the rest of the news

He also did the talk with Pitchfork pre-festival in 2015 when he announced Star Wars (and then debuted the entire album at the festival the next night), so i'm not sure that holds too much water.

I was curious last night so I checked out the calendar on some likely Chicago venues for the two weekends after tour ends and I don’t think they’ll play then because the Chicago Theatre, Auditorium Theatre and the Riv don’t have either weekend free. I’m wondering if they’re just going to do a one off run of shows in December or something.

That sounds cool and would fit with the teaser. Some more experimental Wilco would be fantastic. Now the question is pink or black vinyl?!
