  1. awesome, i love wilco and i love sandwich shops. do you have a website yet? im going to have to go north to Toronto just for a sandwich. sounds perfect.
  2. got two tickets for madison right at ten am but the machine put me in the back of the venue, damn the machine, hail madison & wilco.
  3. i havent seen him live as the Machine, does he play electric guitar or is it like Gillian Welch music, acoustic?
  4. some music is great because you can put it on the stereo in the background and sort of ignore it, background music, nothing too annoying or loud. but then there is music that you have to pay attention to and really listen. this record is that way.
  5. i agree with tweedy here. people want to be entertained so they request what they want to hear but it isnt up to the fan. the band will do what they can to accomodate and entertain but its their vehicle, they steer the wheels. a lot of wilco fans go to alot of shows so they see/hear a lot of same setlists. i assume a lot of bands stick to the same playlist with some rotating songs. Comedians perform the same way. Im glad people dont complain about their clothes. they wear the same thing most nights.....i dont care though.
  6. oh i will try to get tickets for that NYE Spoon show in Milwaukee, hopefully that will make up for their Summerfest show this year.
  7. i went to UW-Whitewater so i am a fan. good team

  10. im a little late, but Paul Burch and the WPA Ballclub's new record Still Your Man was released Aug. 18th. Great record! Blues, country, western, rock, swing, zydeco, etc....PB & WPA include it all with great songwriting. Paul is a real nice man and puts on a great steady show. he doesnt tour much but he plays regularly in Nashville.
  11. i have been to about 38-40 shows. not that many but this dates back to '97. i have unused tickets to 3 shows, the day of show the girl backed out on me....
  12. im into my second listen and i like it much better now. i agree with above post about Jim James, i guess i was hoping his contribution was going to be like the Yim Yames record but i guess it like it. M Ward can do no wrong in my book though. im excited for this group because they sorta take over for Golden Smog for me, younger, fresher supergroup. hopefully many records to follow
  13. i think they took it down. but the packaging for the new Deluxe record is insane
  14. i just moved into my first house and moving my upright piano was a real tough chore. i got it in but not in the room i wanted. oh well. i still love it.
  15. i think i have a D-16, but i looks identical, pickguard and fretboard. i love it so. even with old dusty, bloodstained strings it still sounds great. i love Martin. congrats!
  16. oh nice, i would start with the POLIPO, delve into the CAPASANTA ROSPO, finish with the CORZETTI. im a Chianti hound so i would imbibe with that vino. have fun!
  17. oh shite, this stuff is great!!
  18. im not a fan of mushing songs together off different records to compile a "this should be the record" type of thing. A mixtape or playlist is something different. a collection of songs put together by the listener. I dont like messing with the artist's art, this case, the musician's final piece. it fits as they see fit. the original composition. just my opinion on the matter. no judgment though, put together what you want to simply enjoy the music.
