Such a brilliant song! It strikes as being thew perfect ending song to a movie. I imagine a zoomed out shot of a really foggy rain forest. It fades out to black right as he sings "I'm not here" in a higher register. I think it's just incredible the way the gorgeous melody and jarring dissonance seem to do battle as this song ends.

ive known people who have "bad" experiences with pot. i'm sure a brownie with too much pot combined and an already unstable emotional state are not a great mix--for some people at least.

every time nels breaks into the solo in IG I think "this is going to be the time the solo completely sucks; what else can he do with this song" but he always finds a way to bring something new.

I'm also debating about whether to see them. It's a great movie, but are they worth $40 to see live?

i bet they would have cut that whole end part for SNL. I think they did great. I can't imagine anyone seeing that performance of Walken and not being impressed/ wanting to check out some of their stuff . But I guess I'm biased.

I love how the movie ends with "Pure Imagination".

I have a friend who never like Wilco much and rolled his eyes every time I brought them up. The other day he called me and said "I just listened to Sky Blue Sky all the way through. Ill never say anything bad about Wilco again." Later he told me that he thinks it's "one of his favorite records of all time". That might be a bit of a stretch on his part, but there's certainly something really special about this record. It feels like it exists outside all of the bullshit that's going on in the world right now. Listening to it is like diving into a cool lake on a burning hot day.
