I know what you mean. Ever since I got this one a few months back it seems to always end up back in my player. I hope to pick this one up soon:

I left halfway through the Hole set at a Lollapooloza show due to the heat and my own drunkenness. I ended up in the parking lot lying in the back seat of my car listening to the muffled sounds of Hole, then Sonic Youth, waiting for my friends to show up and rescue me... ah, good times, good times.

The closest thing to a new Go-Betweeens album...

I tried a few SG's when I was looking to get a new guitar a while back. I tried one of those Angus Young models but was discouraged by the tuning problems. The guitar just didn't seem to want to stay in tune. The sound was okay, but I preferred the sound of the ES-335 and ended up getting that instead. Still though, I would like to get a nice SG sometime in the future if the right one comes along.

The sounds not great on this, and he does stretch things out a bit too long, but there is some nice guitar fills at least. You gotta love Prince for his interesting choice of covers.

Agreed. I was going to try and help out but saw that post (and the impatient 2nd post) and changed my mind. I love helping out but not when people act like jerks.

Nice to see some pre-2007/2008 music in some of the above posts (somewhat of a rare sight in this thread in general.) NP:

Interesting character, and that voice...

Home-studio microphone suggestions?
GtrPlyr replied to Golden Smoghead's topic in Solid State Technology
Over the years I've acquired quite a few mics: AKG C-451-B (nice for acoustic guitars) AKG D112 (great for bass drums) AKG C 414 B-ULS (Great for vocals, guitars and other instruments. This is expensive, but worth it if you can get something like it.) AKG SE 300 B (I use these as drum overheads and on acoustics occasionally.) Audio Technica - AT-3060 (Good all purpose mic that isn't too expensive.) Shure - SM-57s & SM-58s (great for amps and drums and live vocals.) Though I have some nice mics and gear, my actual recording unit is an old school 8-track analog system. Anyone else stil -

I'm a firm believer in not letting supposed songwriting "rules" get in your way. My songs don't always follow conventional patterns of songwriting such as the: verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus type. That's not to say I don't like that way, or don't use it, because I often do, but I really try to let the song dictate its path. Some songs may start with a chorus, or may only have one chorus in the whole song, or have 2 bridges and an interlude... The hard part is fighting the urge to turn everything into a standard pop song. I've had that battle where I think, damn this needs another chor

Three new songs on Hem website

My girlfriend will be happy, she loves that band (I think they're pretty good too.) -
What, was Paulie Shore busy or something? I think the best thing Fallon ever did was his small part in Almost Famous... that, and his Barry Gibb impersonation. I don't know if I see him as host material, but then again Conan wasn't all that good when he started, so he might just prove me wrong.

Just about to start this one:

The first time I went to my girlfriends place--many years ago now--I spotted some Raymond Carver books and Paul Westerberg CDs on a shelf. I knew right then that things would work out just fine. Though she doesn't like a lot of the "noisier' music I sometimes put on, we both like a lot of the same artists. She even likes Wilco, though not as passionately as me. I see her current CD pile includes Gary Louris, Goldfrapp, Bon Iver, Luc Doucet, Nada Surf, Jason Collett... I like a few of these too .

Not that there's anything wrong with sounding like Prince . I know what you're saying though. Heck, Smokey, Al Green, and Tiny Tim were using a falsetto voice long before Prince. Anyway. Apropos of nothing: I'd venture to say that Prince's best records--Purple Rain and Sign o' the Times--eclipse anything MMJ have done so far.

A Thread for Musical Blasphemy you Truly Believe
GtrPlyr replied to hardwood floor's topic in Someone Else's Song
Some of these posts seem to be about musical ignorance, not blasphemy . -
I don't really have many MP3's on my computer, but thankfully I still had some sitting on my hard drive from a previous mix I sent to a friend. GtrPlyr - Muxtape 01.
