  1. Raveonettes - Pe'ahi Chuck Prophet - Night Surfer
  2. Just came across this on Amazon. I wonder if Jeff was influenced by this, or if it's just coincidental.
  3. There's enough intrigue to keep me going, but it hasn't fully engaged me yet, which is probably why I'm only on chapter 3 after a week of reading. Darnielle shows promise as a novelist, some of his similes seem clunky and unnecessary, but overall the writing has been good. I get the sense that the story is about to pick up steam. I'll weigh in again after I've finished this one.
  4. There are quite a few stories that he's told at shows over the years present, but there are also numerous new stories which made the book worth it for me. Even the familiar stories were fun to hear again as some were fleshed out with new details.
  5. Finished The Snider book--which was a fast and fun read--now onto the Scott-Heron memoir.
  6. Seconded. Due to the time I've invested watching season 1, I feel some sick loyalty to see how this plays out, despite how exponentially worse it seems to get from episode to episode. 7. I heard about the new Prophet record the other day. Definitely gonna check that one out.
  8. I have the Phoenix Records version, it is a decent reissue. Of course, this being such a great record helps with overlooking some of the sonic issues.
  9. ^^^^ Nice! I'm looking forward to seeing them this Saturday.
  10. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I know this is based on Frank Sidebottom, but there were definitely some Captain Beefheart, Daniel Johnston, and Roky Erickson touches added into the character. The movie gives an interesting look at the often strained and odd band dynamics that occur when you get a disparate group of people together. Anyone that has been in a band will relate to some of this. The movie makes some interesting observations about art and the whole following artistic vs. commercial paths. Fassbender really does a great job in this too, especially considering the fake head he had to
  11. Always good to have new members. Welcome aboard Tomer. It sounds like you have a fantastic Wilco themed journey ahead of you, I'm sure you'll have a great time.
  12. I just Googled it, turns out his full name is David Ryan Adams.
  13. ^^ Nice, I have that record too. Mine is a nice gold colored vinyl.
  14. Bahamas - Bahamas Is Afie Good record for this warm summer day.
  15. ^^ Binge watched that one about a month back, loved it.
  16. ^^^ Been listening to that one quite a bit lately. NP:
