Yeah, digging this one. Really liked his last/first one too. Who says you can't start a recording career at 82?

^^ I'd suggest George Saunders, or maybe J.G. Ballard.

Indeed. He put on a great show tonight, as usual.

What bands/artist have you seen the most live? How many times?

I really don't have a lot of repeat offender bands. Most artists/bands I like, I've probably only seen once or twice. Just a few exceptions to this really: Paul Westerberg/The Replacements: 11 Wilco/Jeff Tweedy: 5 The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir: 5 (local band that I used to dig back in the day) -

I quite enjoyed season I. I liked the shows refreshing depiction of marriage and relationships of people in the post 30 set.

I'm a fan of stuff like The Quiet Earth, The Omega Man: all that last person/people on earth post-catastrophe type stuff. So naturally I've been watching it. I was a bit concerned with Will Forte as the lead--never really cottoned to much of the stuff he did on SNL, barring a few exceptions--but he's okay in this. I hope they can keep this quirky and interesting, and not lapse into too many tried and true cliches of the genre.

I finished that one a few weeks back. I found some of the writing and chapters to be undercooked, like some material was included to fulfill a page quota or something. Also, a few of the stories made her seem like a self-centered egotist, which made it hard to relate to. I'm not sure she would have found a publisher if she didn't already have a successful show on her resume. I still like the show for what it's worth, even if every character is unlikable barring a few exceptions.

I don't think I'd ever pay that much to see a Wilco show. Nevertheless I don't begrudge them charging what they can get, or what they feel is fair. As for management not replying to the OPs email, I'm guessing they don't feel they have to justify their costs to people, which I totally get.

Was sad to hear this, though 94 is a pretty great run. A few years back I found a signed record of his at a garage sale that I bought for a dollar. Once in a while I luck out.

She jumps right to the break-up of her band and marriage in the first chapter. Interesting and insightful read so far.

Sleater-Kinney (never seen them live before, looking forward to it.)

I really loved The Interestings, hoping this one is good too.

I seem to have similar tastes. Watched all of those except The Jinx. I'll have to look into that one. edit: Ah, thought it sounded familiar: the Robert Durst documentary on HBO, I do want to see that one.

Just finished season 1 last night. Good show, I hope they pick it up for another season.
