  1. There's also the scene where he craps on the floor then eats it during one of his shows. Probably the most disturbing music documentary I've ever seen. His fearlessness was admirable, too bad it was wrapped up in a messed up world view, erratic and violent behaviour and overall craziness.
  2. I came across this last night and watched a few minutes. Not long enough to get an impression that they were over-inflating the importance of the Dave Clark Five. I generally take these sort of docs with a grain of salt. I've seen far too many that paint a bigger picture of a band than the reality can support. I'm going to PVR the rerun on Friday. Will weigh in after.
  3. My knee jerk reaction, go with the devil you know: music I already know. There is so much great stuff in my collection that I don't ever need to hear anything new to be content. Of course I do love discovering new stuff, and am doing so constantly, so the choice would still be very hard to make. But I'm sticking with my first choice, as the thought of never hearing The Beatles, Sly Stone, Big Star, etc would be too hard to bear.
  4. That's very cool Moss and the picture ain't so bad at all. Interesting to hear that Replacements story. I know that gig would've been a dream come true for me, as I'm sure it would've been for many guitar players.
  5. I'm kinda glad Letterman is finally retiring. He lost me as a fan years ago, though I still watch on the rare occasion if he has a good musical guest. For me though, he's been phoning it in for years. That's probably a good thing as it would likely lead to him totally revamping his show to please the network.

  7. Brigitte Fontaine - Comme à la radio
  8. I second that. I wonder if they approached Jeff for this project.
  9. It's kinda scary how damn prolific Dylan was back then. I'm not usually a fan of "covers" projects but this one sounds pretty cool,
  10. Tinnitus mentioned a few of the bigger ones. There were a bunch, most notably the Dayglo Abortions, Forgotten Rebels, The Diodes, The Viletones and Teenage Head. Not really one of their punkiest songs, but a good one nevertheless: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UjCzrdzR48
  11. Eternal Summers - The Drop Beneath

  13. I started watching this last night, got about 2/3 through before I had to go to bed. Anyone else see this? It's pretty interesting so far. Good mix of player and designer interviews, along with short snippets of the effects being talked about being used to give context.
