The book gives some interesting glimpses into Todd's various productions both solo and with other artists. It covers his early days with The Nazz and goes from there. I'm only about a 1/3 of the way in, so far it has covered his work with Badfinger*, The Band, Grand Funk Railroad, Hall & Oates, Jesse Winchester, Sparks and his solo records up to the first Utopia record. It seems to be well researched, and although Rundgren didn't participate, there is liberal sprinklings of quotes from Todd and the people he's worked with over the years. That's great to hear. The demos I've heard of the amp have been in the blues and blues-rock vein, and it sounds real good. I'm hoping it will be versatile enough for other genres too. If you're using it I have to assume it likely is.

This song always takes me back to summertime, hanging around with friends by the neighborhood pool listening to this on the lifeguards radio.

There's quite a few boutique amps to choose from these days that's for sure. I've read some good things about a few, but without the opportunity to test drive I'm a bit leery, especially when we're talking thousands of dollars. Speaking of amps, anyone have any experience with the Peavey Delta Blues 115? I like the demos I've heard of this haven't got to play one yet though.
