  1. Damn, that is a good bill. I might actually have to drive to Chicago for this.
  2. I still listen to 3 of the 5 on occasion. The Jayhawks and Son Volt ones I haven't listened to in years.
  3. I saw that one at the Toronto film fest. Not her best work, but still pretty damn good. I gave it a 7 out of 10 at the time.
  4. Kudos on going the organic route. I hope to work in such a garden into the backyard soon .
  5. I looked him up as well . It's too bad that his records aren't still in print.
  6. ^ That Dennis Linde record cover has my curiosity piqued. NP:

    Biking

I just got back from a bike ride actually. Now that the weather is nice I try to get on the bike every other day.
  8. Candi Staton - Candi Staton Time to get my 70s Soul groove on now .
  9. Of the people that regularly post in the Now Playing thread--as these are the only ones that I can get a good enough idea of their musical tastes--I'd say Cortez, PopTodd, llynn and Froggie are the ones that most often listen to stuff I have and like. Of course there are numerous other posts from other people in that thread that I quite like too .
  10. I second that. This new one of his is one of my more anticipated releases of the next few months.
  11. I don't drink coffee, but the people around here swear by Tim Horton's coffee. Judging by the crowds they get in the mornings I figure they must be lacing the stuff with PCPs or something.
  12. I love it too . I recently got my hands on the expanded edition so I've been playing it quite a bit lately. Anyway, now playing: Meat Puppets - Meat Puppets II
  13. There's so many great scenes and lines in that film. I like the scene where Pollack is exiting the cinema with his girlfriend having just seen Kurosawa's Ran: "Trust me. It's King Lear. Shakespeare never wrote about a King Leo."
  14. Just finished this: and now onto this:
  15. I would love to see them but they never seem to venture to my neck-of-the-woods .
  16. Another of the great ones gone . I loved a lot of his work, including some of his acting roles (Husbands and Wives in particular.) He's going to be sorely missed.
  17. Miranda July Videoworks: Volume 1
  18. I'm with you Beltman. As a film buff myself, I appreciate that the filmmaker was trying to make something a bit more artistic and abstract than the usual rock doc. Unfortunately, what we end up with is a film that is for the most part devoid of any insight, and music for that matter. A more traditional behind the scenes doc would've suited me just fine. You know, something with interviews, and artists talking about inspirations and the art of creation, and some full song performances and stuff like that. At least the E.P. was better, though not essential to be sure.
