Ive been close but never met Jeff Tweedy
Preferred B replied to IRememberDBoon's topic in Just A Fan
I have not seen the clip, but it was probably recorded for an exhibit at a Chicago museum (or cultural center?) back around 2003 or 2004. My memory of it is very fuzzy, but the piece included a lot of people discussing their dreams, projected onto the walls. -
Bump, once more. Discounted tickets!

Need 1 ticket for Tweedy/Vic - 3/30 or 3/31

PM sent. -
Bump. I'll even take off the price of fees, so $100 even.

I have a pair of $50 tickets to sell for Jeff Tweedy at the Vic on Saturday 3/31. The price for both, with fees, was $120. These are print at home tickets. Send me a PM or email at bmkout-test (at) yahoo (dot) com if you'd like to buy them.

Traditionally, you can request a song if you are one of the first 30 people in line. Both sections are general admission.

What does your upcoming concert schedule look like?
Preferred B replied to EstimtedProphet's topic in Someone Else's Song
Here's the explanation of the podcast from the Nerdist website, which you may have found: Nerdist Podcast I am Chris Hardwick. I am on TV a lot and have a blog at nerdist.com. This podcast is basically just me talking about stuff and things with my two nerdy friends Jonah Ray and Matt Mira, and usually someone more famous than all of us. Occasionally we swear because that is fun. I hope you like it, but if you don't I'm sure you will not hesitate to unfurl your rage in the 'reviews' section because that's how the Internet works. You can download episodes from iTunes if you're curious. T -

Tickets currently purchased for Andrew Bird, Jeff Tweedy, The Nerdist Podcast, and M. Ward. -
At this juncture, I feel compelled to remind everyone that "The Honorary Member of Wilco" isn't actually a thing. Also, that 4/17/03 show at the Abbey was a great time.
-
Yeah, it's unbelievably shitty. And eTix is kind of a scalper's paradise if there aren't "credit card only for admission" measures in place like there were for the December shows. But there have never been problems in past years! What was different this time? The fact that they were mentioned in the Jam mail a couple days ago?
-
It was taped before the most recent Wilco show at the Wiltern. I can't speak for Chris Hardwick, but Wil Wheaton is a well-documented longtime Wilco fan.
-
eTix. The correct dates are up. Looking forward to these, as always!
-
To be fair, they were asked to be part of the Beach Boys/Foster the People/Maroon 5 spectacle. Which ... yeah.
-
Craig, I'm not sure how much Wilco stuff is in here, but you should find the following thread helpful: http://viachicago.org/topic/35877-going-to-chicagowhat-to-do-see-stay-etc/

I think this is a requirement in Seattle, at least for crowds of a certain size. I remember having to do it at Bumbershoot in a football stadium. (And I'm also a Standing O clapper.)

I'd love to see you (and MT) in Chicago! We missed you in Oakland. Have fun in Seattle ... I wish I could join you.

Wilco — 1/29/12, San Francisco, CA (The Warfield)

We actually saw one on the way to the bar last night, but still, only one! I had such a good time last night. Hanging out with friends old and new is the best, and the concert was excellent. Judes, I wish I could make it to Vancouver! -
Wilco — 1/24/12, Los Angeles, CA (Hollywood Palladium)

I don't have much to add, other than echoing comments that this was a great show. I continue to love the new songs, especially "Dawned on Me," "Whole Love," and "Born Alone" last night. The venue seemed to suck up some of the crowd noise, but its glossy floor, chandeliers, and interesting wallpaper added charm. -

That was fun! I was waiting for it to fade back into Casino Queen for the ending, but maybe that would have been a bit much. I also really enjoyed "Nothingsevergonna..." tonight. The line thing reminded of being in Siberia, when it was necessary to slip bottles of vodka to the guys managing the Baikal ferry crossing in order to keep your car's spot in the queue. -
I was there, and enjoyed it, but it's not something that really lends itself to recapping. As evidenced by the recap above. It was a 2.5-hour conversation between two guys on stage. Jeff Garlin said he's really not sure what he'll end up doing with the recordings.

White Denim is opening all of the West Coast shows. http://whitedenimmusic.com/tour/

Do note that this is part of Jeff Garlin's "In Conversation" series, and not a Jeff Tweedy solo show. That said, I'm thrilled to see Jeff will finally be at Largo!

Must see, eat and drink Nashville edition!

Do the Ryman backstage tour if you're not there on a performance day. It's awesome. -
