  1. We thought his J.Lo sounded a little more like Dr. Evil.
  2. I can't believe I'd never been to Door County before this weekend! I've got to find more time to explore the northern parts of my state. The show was a great time, and I second the positive comments about the audience. "Bull Black Nova" was a major highlight for me. Wonderfully creepy. Loving the new songs solo, too. Friday was my first time hearing "Open Mind," because I've been avoiding any video or audio until I can hear songs for myself in person. I'm looking forward to September.
  3. Hey Lauren, I couldn't help remembering this exchange ... I know it was all in good fun, but VC does love donations!

  5. HA. I found that awhile ago too. Some of the recipe titles are so bad, but they still crack me up.
  6. Per Facebook: released on 9/27, tracklist to come this afternoon.
  7. Me too! Nice waking up to an "invitation" to this show on Facebook.
  8. Judy, we were taking pictures after Levon Sunday evening when Samosaman came by and took our picture too!
  9. There were so many new songs at Solid Sound that I found it hard to keep track. "I Might" and "Born Alone" stood out as favorites, but that could be because I've heard them more than the others. I heard talk that the album will not be a double CD, but a relatively lengthy single CD. I wouldn't count on that until we get official confirmation, though.
  10. Thanks for the report! I wish they'd collaborated on "Fuck Shit Stack," too.
  11. I know there was an interview awhile back where Jeff specifically talked about the song and the fact that it was about a civil war soldier. I couldn't find the actual interview, but I did find a mention of it online (in a discussion of lyrics) from a couple of years ago: "In an interview in the new Relevant Magazine, Jeff Tweedy says that the song is told fromt he point of view of a Civil War soldier who was paid to fight as a substitute for a wealthy man (a common practice.) He's now about to die and is writing to the man who paid him to fight. Tweedy also said this song was written without
  12. I moved this to ATS, since that is indeed the proper place for it. If any of the attendees want to start a separate thread, I'd be happy to merge this into that one.
  13. I'm pretty sure this came up back when the event actually happened. The majority of the performers have connections to Neil - they've opened for him, or played the Bridge School Benefit, or both.
  14. I totally agree. Whether or not he would "facemelt" them remains to be seen, but I miss the days when Jeff did participate in the guitar battle.
  15. I think a lot of people haven't even realized this show exists. Also, it's a haul from pretty much anywhere besides Green Bay. That being said, I'm so pumped. Even though I'm a lifelong Wisconsin resident, this will be my first trip to Door County.
  16. I also missed You Are My Face, but then again, this tour was only a little over a week long. I wouldn't lament its absence just yet. One of my favorite moments in Denton was when one of the uniformed ushers came down the aisle, whipped out his iPhone, and started taking pictures. The video/camera battle wasn't one Jeff chose to fight on Saturday, even though the usual signs were up. It would have been fun to hear the Poor Places > Reservations > Spiders encore, but I enjoyed the rockin' one too.
  17. Heartwarming indeed! Nice recap, T. I love Cain's and had so much fun last night. (God, it was just last night?) I think one of my favorite songs of the night was "Box Full of Letters" ... you know, one of those Wilco wrote and recorded before the band emigrated to America.
  18. Here's an article that talks a lot about the venue.
  19. I'd just keep an eye on the venue websites for the ticket links. Attempting to buy tickets for one of the venue's other shows should take you to their ticketing system.
  20. Regarding the presales, click on the info link next to any show for presale and onsale dates.
  21. Oh, you're right. I was thinking the album came out in May, and they started doing songs from it with some regularity in Spain at the end of May. But it really came out at the end of June.
  22. There are a handful of UK dates up now for October, and they go on presale tomorrow! The Roundhouse in London looks like a really cool place.
  23. I kind of feel like they won't do a new song on this tour. Before W(ta) came out, after playing a couple new ones in Milwaukee, they went back to not playing them at all until the album was out. It seems like Solid Sound, if anything, would be a much more likely place for a song's debut. It's cool if they want to prove me wrong, though. In Denton or Tulsa, preferably. I miss your recaps, P.
  24. Oh my god! I didn't dream that?
  25. My favorites are the threads that happen (well, maybe there have only been two of them) while the album streams for the first time. There are wonderful peaks and valleys of blind excitement and disappointed rage!
