  1. coolest thing ever...i've made two more. it's hard to stop it...
  2. haha...it's okay. i understood what you were getting at. my "song" is really pure self indulgence...but it's just too cool not to record.
  3. i just made a 7 minute collage. this is amazing. http://rapidshare.com/files/248264568/Sunny_Direction.mp3.html i doubt anyone would want to hear this, but i rapidshared it cause i'm so tickled right now. haha...it's fun. 160kbps quality is kinda lame, but what can i do? i laugh like 5 minutes in cause it's so cool. sorry.
  4. i need a kamera to my eye to my eye reminding which lies that i've been hiding which echoes belong...
  5. My friend Eann and I made the trip up from Denton, TX. Not a bad drive, and OKC was a really great town. Wish we could've spent more time there, but my buddy had to work at 8am the next day, so we made a speed run. We were right in front of Nels at the front of the crowd. I must say....best.concert.experience.ever. During Spiders we both got to strum jeff's SG, which might be the highlight moment of either my life or at least my concert going life. The sharpies came from directly behind me...but don't worry, our section booed the shit outta whoever did it. I'm pretty sure Nels was going to kil
  6. they're up on songmeanings.net. i think they're all right.
  7. there is an organization out there that provides health care for musicians and artists isn't there? you have to make like minimum of 4K a year or something to be covered by them.
  8. it's experimental in its routine...or it's routine in its experimental...ism. it's really semantics.
  9. he switches a lot. plus he goes crazy sometimes...i saw them last monday in oklahoma city and he just went off. i love them.
  10. well if there is a side of the fanbase that doesn't like the experimental stuff i'd say they're winning at this point.
  11. i'd argue (peacefully) that they are an experimental band. maybe not in the "hey let's do weird stuff on every track" kind of thing, but they're experimental in that each album is kind of an experiment, no matter what the sound. an experiment for the listener and the artist. Sky Blue Sky experimented with a looser feel, a laid back vibe or whatever you want to call it. The new album experiments with just about everything Wilco has done.
  12. touring is still a bitch, no matter what you're touring in. plus he's obviously been doing it a long time and it's taken its toll on him...look at the Ashes DVD.
  13. really cool stuff on the new update. kudos!
  14. same here. i'm an unabashed fanboy.
  15. they've obviously toyed with the whole electronic thing (in the vein of the ending of this song) in the studio quite a bit. The ending of Hummingbird from the book cd reminds me a lot of the ending of Unlikely Japan.
  16. the ending is just fantastic. i kind of wish Jeff would head back in that direction...the vocal effects are one of the things that make Kid A my favorite Radiohead song.
  17. he's probably just burned out from the kind of workload that Wilco does as opposed to his workload pre-Wilco. I think, and I don't mean this in a mean way or anything, that he's kind of just decided to coast at times during shows. Nothing wrong with it, but you can kind of tell when he starts tremolo picking in a solo that that's his fastball. That said, i love Nels. However, I'll be standing on John and Pat's side at the next concert.
  18. i'm kind of getting there as well. it kind of feels like a mash up between Deeper Down and Bull Black Nova in some parts, and the ending is quite awesome. I think I like it better than Impossible Germany.
  19. pretty interesting. i like it...it does have the book cd feel to it.
  20. i will continue to request Pieholden Suite until they just play it. i don't care if there are horns or not!
  21. i have an Analogman CompROSSor that is very very nice. a bit expensive, but it's a great little machine.
  22. night of the furies is my favorite album of theirs.
  23. great show last night. i got jeff's guitar pick. it was quite amazing.
  24. of the 2009 releases i've heard or bought: 1. Merriweather Post Pavilion - Animal Collective 2. Wilco (The Album) - Wilco 3. Wolfgang Amadaeus Phoenix - Phoenix 4. Reservoir - Fanfarlo . . . . . . . 50. Working On A Dream - Bruce Springsteen (horrible album, and I love Bruce)
