That sounds very familiar to what happen at the Charlotte show back in June. Jeff was saying "You two need to get a room.. It's bordering on indecent.. And I'm wearing thin pants!" That was funny stuff... He was like "Do you want us to play more slow jams?".. Jeff is quite the comedian.

Do you have trouble maintaining an election?

Yeah, a lot of people are saying that President Bush's package is just the right size to be affective. -
Hmm.. Not to change the subject or anything, but what are these SBS outtakes you speak of? I've never heard of these.. Just SBS and the bonus material..

I seriously doubt my wife would do anything to piss Jeff off. Even though she has been known to tip a few at concerts, she usually keeps her cool and certainly won't be passing out.. I've listened to some of John Doe's solo stuff, and it's pretty good.. Alt Country.. I think he'll be a good warm up act. I'm really looking forward to Blue Mountain at the Pourhouse the night before the show.. I heard they put on a killer show.

Ok thanks.. I agree, as long as the taper is ok with it. I've always liked FLAC simply because I normally covert them to a 256 bit rate MP3. Normally when you download MP3's, they are in 192 or less, and I can tell a huge difference between 192 and 256.. And for those who don't know how to convert FLAC, there are plenty of resources out there to learn how. It's actually a lot easier to do than most people think. Heck, I'm always willing to help VCers.. Free tech support.. No India call center here...

What's wrong with lossy? Just curious..

My band actually does a few of those. We play Queens "Under Pressure", and at the end, we go into a full verse/chorus of Vanilla Ice "Ice Ice Baby" because both songs share the same bass line.. Yeah, it's cheesy as hell, but it always gets a great crowd response.. It's always a big hit!

Ouch... Congrats Giants...

Great advice. Thank you.

I've been primarily a lead guitarist my whole life, but I've also been a lead singer/song writer of a few bands as well. I have been throwing around the idea of doing some gigging as a solo acoustic singer/guitarist. My problem is, I need some more tunes to cover. I plan to do some writing, but I also want to have a large catalog of covers. Anyone have any ideas for tunes or artists to cover? Anyone other than Wilco and Beatles because I already know dozens of their tunes. Thanks friends.

Brady is inhuman indeed.. Sooner or later it will be discovered that he's actually mechanically engineered... No human can have a 92.9 completion percentage in a game.

Ah, cool.. So the talent runs in their family. Maybe John will make a visit to the show.. Although he probably won't be in town until the 29th. Edit: Actually, they have a day off inbetween DC and Charleston, so it's possible he could stop by. But regardless, I'd like to see them because it sounds like it would be a kick ass show.

I heard "Blue Canoe" on the radio (back when Charleston still had a good radio station).. I had no idea it was Blue Mountain. So I assume it would be a wise decision for me to see them on Feb. 28th in Charleston, the night before the Wilco show?

Poll : Let the Internets tell you who to vote for

A tie with McCain and Romney.. I'm sure I'll be the minority in this thread with those kind of results.. A lot of democrats at VC. -
Happy Birthday Analogman!

Plaxico is predicting 23-17 Giants.. We all know what happened last time someone predicted a win against the Patriots. Heck, Anthony Smith from the Steelers didn't just predict a win, he guaranteed it... Final score Patriots 34, Steelers 13.... If you are superstitious, the Giants just jinxed the hell out of themselves.

Sure thing bug boy.

Your very welcome. And BTW - Best of luck to your Gamecocks for the 08 season.. They will need all the luck they can get... haha just messin with you.. go tigers...
-
They need to.. And Rivers needs to go and join the Rentals! But seriously, they sort of broke up after the release of Pinkerton and Matt Sharp left the band.. But it was mostly just a hiatus.

I have this info posted in the SBS content thread. It should apply to this as well: You can get an older version of quicktime here: http://oldapps.com/quicktime_player.htm Try version 7.1.3.. That one should work. You'll probably have to uninstall your current version before you install the old one. After you install 7.1.3, you will see the option in the advanced tab to Enable Playback of Flash Tracks. Edit: Looks like Larry Mendte beat me to the punch. His link should work as well.

It's around the corner from the PAC on West Montague. Google maps link I went there for the super bowl one year and just drank cheap pitcher beer, so I really couldn't tell you what they have as far as good beer. I would bet they atleast have killians and maybe guiness, but that's just a guess.. It's just your average sports bar.. Nothing fancy, but they do have a giant movie theatre size TV screen. The only reason I'm considering going there because it's close to the PAC.

Exactly! It's in a pretty bad part of town.. Not much around it as far as bars/restaurants.. It sucks for the people that are traveling here from out of town because it's definitely not a good representation of Charleston. There is so much more downtown. I haven't quite decided where I'm gonna go for food and before the show.. I'm leaning toward the Sportz Cafe since it's just right down the street and it's really the only choice within walking distance.

Yeah, Hum is one of the most underrated bands in modern history.. Very unique sound.. I love how they were able to create such a spacey sound with just a four piece (guitar bass and drums) and no crazy effects.. It's time for a Hum reunion. They played one show in 2005 and it was a big hit, but haven't done much since..
