  1. I was just going to say, I bet you anything it was drugs.. Man I'm glad I'm not famous.. Happens way too often..
  2. Yeah me too.. I'd love to hop in and see The Clash, SRV, Hendrix, to name a few..
  3. Well like I said, many of the songs we do, I'm able to control the dynamics and tone with strumming and/or volume control. But it's the hard rock songs with loud, heavy distorted guitar through the entire song that has the problem. I guess it's just tough when my band plays so many different types of songs and styles.
  4. If you are a guitar geek like me and/or like free, experimental Jazz (I guess you can call it that), then check out "Giant Pin" or "Draw Breath".... Holy crap.. That's all I can say..
  5. I agree that The Thanks I Get would be the most likely song.. But man, Let's Not Get Carried Away would just flat out ROCK live..
  6. Two replies are enough to convince me.. "At Dawn" it is..
  7. I scored pit row AA, middle left.. I hope the sound is good from the front row, but I know I'll atleast be head level with Nels's amp and I'll be able to hear him very well.. Very happy about that That sucks about camera's, because I was planning to bring my 35m.. It's a little too big to sneak, so I may have to settle with my small digital that takes crappy pictures..
  8. Same here.. I'm really looking forward to this album, although I have kind of gotten out of MMJ lately. I wore out "Z", nearly wore out "It Still Moves", got their live album, and then just haven't really listened to them at all for the last several months.. I hear their earlier stuff is great though.. Anyone have any recommendations on specific early albums?
  9. New Orleans is a fine city indeed.. If you like seafood and oysters, you HAVE TO go to the Acme Oyster house.. The oysters are gigantic.. But if seafood isn't your bag, then there's plenty of other great restaurants of course..
  10. I remember hearing that version on the Wilco Singles collection from the Owl site.. I love it when bands make fun of their own songs.. That version is ridiculous, but I like it.
  11. Wow! That is funny.. I was just bored and browsing around Youtube, and I saw them.. Great stuff indeed. Your very welcome. Good old Youtube.
  12. Just found this gem on youtube.. Wilco - Marble Mtn, NF
  13. Ah, I see that.. Finally! Thats very cool. I hope they don't start moving to larger venue's because of all the sellout's.. Although that's great for the band, I love seeing them in the smaller theater venue's.
  14. I don't know how someone could possibly be a former fan of Wilco.. Once your hooked, you are hooked for life.. He probably never really was a fan before.. But every Wilco fan I know is like you. I know I am.. My friends/family get annoyed with how much I talk about them.. "Check out this new bootleg!" "I'm going to see them in Charleston!"... I have said before that I love several other bands, but there is Wilco, and then there is everyone else..
  15. Ah, got it backwords... Thanks for the correction.
  16. I don't think it's possible to not like Brett Favre.. He's an amazing athlete of course, and he's also a great guy.. My former boss met him and said he's just a really laid back, down to earth guy.. Ever notice how John Madden is like in love with him or something? He can't shut up about him.. He wants to have his baby...
  17. I don't know how I missed them in my Punk rock days. I mostly listened to Minor Threat, Bouncing Souls, Descendents, Bad Religion.. I'm sure I heard X at some point during those days, just didn't stick I guess..
  18. Where the hell have I been.. Never heard of X or John Doe, but when I checked out some of John Doe's new solo stuff, I like it a lot.. He'll be a great opener for Wilco. They usually have great taste in choosing opening bands.
  19. Go Pack! They are my second favorite team and (I'm probably gonna catch a lot of hell for this) The Patriots are my favorite. So of course it would be great to see my top two favorite teams in the Super Bowl. That is IF the Patriots win today as well..
  20. Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I may go with the boost pedal. Many of the songs we play work just fine when I adjust the volume knob or switch between the neck and bridge pick-up (typically the blues songs or classic rock), but others I would like to keep the same gain and tone the entire song, just boosting the lead volume during solo's. If I have the boost pedal before my distortion pedal in my effects chain, then I think that will work great just boosting the volume during solo's, without effecting the tone/distortion level . Some of the shows we play don't have a in-hou
  21. High school was definitely "high" school for me.. Sorry.. *drum fill*
  22. Weezer is the biggest one for me. see this topic Just can't even listen to them anymore, and I was their #1 fan. Greenday another big one.. Used to love them in highschool, but nope.. not anymore..
  23. Phish - Junta.. Damn what a great album.. When I listen to it, it reminds me of driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains on the way to a weekend of backpacking/camping.. Yes, it was a very hippy thing to do, but I'm not afraid to admit my hippyish tendencies.... Good times.. Good times..
  24. Yeah! Alright, now who has the cojones to make that their new avatar?
