  1. I use these as well... Mostly because I can get the best deal on them from Musicians Friend.. lol.. I change strings probably once a week, so I have to look for the deals... I'm not too picky with strings, as long as they are not Musicians Friend brand. As far as acoustic, again I just look for the best deal. I usually end up with Martins but I probably only change them once every few months.. Don't play acoustic that often.
  2. You guys have a talent for trivializin' the momentous and complicatin' the obvious.
  3. lol.. Yeah, they've already done Lincoln the Vampire Hunter.. Zombies must be next.. Yes it is a reproduction of a cartoon. There are many others like it in the book. Some are just down right disturbing.
  4. It's not your typical Lincoln love fest book. It talks about how Lincoln was actually despised by his opponents and even many of his allies. The author actually works on the game team that I am a part of and is a good friend of mine. He's the team historian. Very cool guy who is also a bass player and has toured with Todd Rundgren.
  5. REPORTED. Just kidding. Welcome to the board!
  6. The show was absolutely awesome.. Better than the last time I saw them a year ago. The new drummer really does enhance their loud and aggressive live sound. The guy is a madman. This was the highlight of the evening. Toby singing "The Beach". (sorry for the crappy camera phone quality)
  7. I know, it just seems kind of cut off on the album... Like they still didn't know how to end it, so they just... ended it. They could have polished up the intense guitar freakout ending.. But that's just my 2 cents.
  8. Yes to some.. Maybe even to many.. But not for me sir.
  9. That's both disturbing and hilarious. Brings back memories as I used to work IT in a plant environment like that. I used to have to watch safety videos all the time, but nothing that bloody..
  10. One Wing is a great song, but they should have kept the original version that they played live for while before the album was released. The one with the really long and intense instrumental part at the end.
  11. Seeing Dr. Dog tonight in beautiful Asheville North Carolina. My favorite town and venue (The Orange Peel) to see a show. Anyone else get a chance to catch them on this tour?
  12. hahaha yeah... Bring us back to the days of the noises on YHF, or the drone on AGIB. A track of nothing but kids screaming while a dog barks.
  13. Yeah they could play at the Peace Center, easily.
  14. Don't want to turn this into a recording geek out thread, but I have a "home studio". When we record we have a long list of stuff to turn off before we hit the record button. A/C, fridge, and even the TV on the other side of the house. A good condenser mic is very powerful. There have been many ruined takes at my house because of a random kid scream or a dog bark...
  15. I was thinking the same thing.. Those condenser mics will pick up literally everything.
  16. I've never once stood up while recording (unless I was just singing) and I've made some hard rock recordings.. It's just easier to play sitting down, especially for the long recording sessions. The Rock can still be achieved while sitting down my friend.
  17. I like WTA.. It's a pretty good album.... But that's just it... Until WTA, in my opinion all of Wilco's albums were great (yes even Sky Blue Sky is a great album)... WTA is the first pretty good album...
  18. Really digging the new stuff. I love how they didn't try to modernize their sound. They sound exactly how they did 30 years ago.
  19. We've gotten quite a bit of Wilco here in the South over the last few years. I've seen then four times in the last three years. It may not be this tour but I'm sure they'll make it down here once or twice before the year is over.
  20. Yes. He can just use old one's like that. That's pretty much all they used anyway. Although I could see Mike Judge making a whole show without the videos (like the original show had pretty much become by the end)
  21. I find it out too although I'll be watching the hell out of Beavis and Butthead. It's not just TV shows or TV has-beens, it's in the movies too (every year there are several remakes, and the list of planned remakes keeps growing)... And cars, and fashion, and music... Can't anyone create anything fresh anymore?
