Anyone else out there married to a "basement musician"?
lamradio replied to AJ673's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
We tried to soundproof our rehearsal room/garage the best we could but still got the cops called on us a couple times.. We're just a loud band I guess. Or just have crappy neighbors.. Now we're forced to practice with electronic drums... No fun... -

I lucked out.. I'm in a band and my wife is the bass player. Well actually, my band couldn't find a bass player.. So I forced her to learn... lol -
Awesome stuff so far. Need a few more listens for it to really soak in, but I REALLY like it so far.

Man can't wait to pick up the new record after work. Yes, I will be purchasing it at my local independent record store.

Awesome!! It's really brilliant actually. TV shows have been poking fun at Star Wars forever.. The amount of material is practically unlimited, and old George has always had a good sense of humor about it.

Check out the translation (subtitles)!!

This is one of the greatest things I have ever seen.

He was not heightful at all when I met him in Charleston.. Michael was very heighty though.. And yes, Nels is full of heightiness (towers over the rest of the members)

Thanks. Yeah, it's a pretty cool gig.. You get a little tired of testing the same things over and over and over again while keeping an eye out for the smallest glitch, but I still get a kick out of this game even after playing it for a year and half. It's fun stuff.. It's pretty easy to learn, and the demo comes with a tutorial as well as the full game manual. -
The only song that I don't really care to hear at every show is Jesus Etc. But in Savannah, they let the crowd sing the lyrics while Jeff stood back, which was great!! I think it's to ensure that he always stays perfectly in tune on every song. Rich rock stars with multiple guitars and roadies have that luxury.

Actually it will run on integrated video, it's just not recommended. I actually have integrated video on my laptop. I have a dual 1.8 CPU, 3 gigs of ram, and it runs like a dream. I do have to scale back the graphic settings some on the bigger scenario's though. -

It's coming along great! Two more songs to record. Then we just need to get it mastered and then were done. I'll be sure to let you know when it's available. Thanks for asking. System requirements are here: http://www.norbsoftware.com/Portal/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=67&Itemid=25 You can download the demo for free and see if it will work on your machine. If you like, you can purchase a reg code that will unlock the full game. The art guys are incredible. I don't know how they do it, but the graphics are pretty amazing aren't they. I think some of t -
For a while I thought the same thing! I saw Wilco three times over a span of two years, and every time they opened with Sunken Treasure!

Believe me, it's the same kid. I never forget a face.. My wife says I have some sort of gift. He has that same "I'm standing next to Jeff Tweedy" smirk on his face...

It's the same kid!!!! I know because he sat right behind me during that show on the second row in Charleston! I never forget a face... Crazy how he's gotten to go on stage with Jeff twice now.....

I hate to toot my own horn, but I'm really quite proud.. The game that I have been working on for a year and half was released today. http://www.scourgeofwar.com/ For those interested, it's a real time strategy Civil War game called Scourge Of War: Gettysburg. If you ever played the Total War games, or Take Command: Second Manassas, you'll dig this game. For those interested, I am the Test Team lead. I also handle some design aspects of the game. Just a little preview shot:

Had no idea it leaked...... Not planning on listening to it though until April 6th.

Best Wilco concert I've ever been to.. They played all my favorites, plus songs I've never seen them play live but always wanted to (ALTWYS, Via Chicago). Plus, my kids had a blast! They were dancing, singing the whole time (except when my youngest fell asleep during the acoustic set... lol) Our seats were excellent in the balcony, and the sound was great up there. Nearly 3 hours of Wilco.. Amazing!

Savannah has 7:30 on my ticket, so I plan to be in my seat at 7:30 sharp. They probably won't start until 7:45 or so, but better safe than sorry.

Once they have the bed, it's hard for them to go back.. So it'll be tough to get him in the crate when he's already experienced the bed. My sisters dog started out in the crate from the start.. So he goes in there on his own, they don't even have to shut the door. But they also have a pretty large crate and it's very comfortable in there for him. So I would say make sure it's big enough, make sure it is comfortable (plenty of padding etc), and just keep trying. And like jff said, it helps if they are very tired. As far as our dog, I'd much rather she slept in a crate, but my wife wouldn

Yes, Barley's is always a winner.. Especially that one in Asheville. I guess you can call it my forte.
