I hope so too. Seeing them in Asheville a couple months ago for the first time was one of the best live show's I've ever seen. There's plenty of perfect sized venue's for them down here.

You know as soon as the pilot did the crazy "fly through the clouds" stunt, I couldn't help but think of this guy..

Hey, flying is still fun. Well, at least general aviation is still fun.. I just got to fly in my first small plane a few weeks ago. My band hired a pilot to fly us to/from two shows we had, and I had a blast.. It was a small Cherokee Warrior. The pilot even let me fly for a little while. At one point we were flying through a bunch of clouds. The pilot found a small break in the clouds and said "hey, let's fly through that hole!" and we turned completely sideways (almost upside down) to fly through it... Fun stuff..

These quotes are funny, in a really predictable way.

Wouldn't be surprised. I know he missed a lot of shows on their last tour, including the one I attended in Asheville, NC. They had a sit in drummer that they got that day.. He did awesome though.

Best news I've heard all day! Too bad no South Eastern dates. Just might have to make the drive to Birmingham. Thanks for posting.

Hey, I'm a Dad and I like Rock.. Does that make me a Dad Rocker??

I'm perfectly happy with my level three balcony seats in Savannah. I've had my share of great Wilco seats. I've been first row, second row, tenth row.. Now it's time to see them in the balcony. I think the sound will be nice and balanced up there. Plus we have the whole five seat row to ourselves.

It's "Windows Live Mail" now.. Get it right.

My alarm goes off at 6 every morning. And even when I'm off work, my kids are my alarm clock, which is usually between 8 and 8:30. Haven't slept in past 9 in years!

Happy birthday Nels. I'm looking forward to another year of face melting guitar lines!

Going to Savannah. Bravely and boldly taking my two boys to this show (5 and 6). We're in the front row of the balcony, so they should be able to see, and we have the whole row to ourselves encase they get crazy... Gotta get them cultured early.. They will be cool growing up knowing that their first concert was Wilco at that young age...

Two dates on the same day? How are they going to pull that off?? Edit: Ah, you beat me Wendy. They must mean that Florida is the 23rd or 24th. Another Edit: I emailed the website company that does Wilcoworld, and they are going to fix it.

Wow.. This must mean that Hollywood is hurting for new ideas. Someday every new movie will be a remake. And years after that, every new movie will be a remake of a remake.. and so on.. and so on..

These are probably the worst lyrics in the history of rock music. I know this goes against the topic, but Weezer's "We're All On Drugs" is also one of the worst songs in history. When you're out with your friends In your new Mercedes-Benz And you're on drugs And you show up late for school 'Cause you think you're really cool When you're on drugs And you put on your headphones And you step into the zone When you're on drugs But the world don't care If you are or are not there 'Cause you're on drugs GIVE IT TO ME We are all on drugs yeah Never getting enough (never get enough) We are all

This is a hard one.. Usually great lyrics combined with great music are what makes a song great. But there are a few MMJ songs that are some of my favorite tunes of all time, but the lyrics are terrible.. Bermuda Highway is one. "Your ass it draws me in like a Bermuda highway".. WTF?

This was a great year for music for me. I bought a lot of good stuff, but these are my favorites. This year I became a BIG fan of Dr. Dog. They're my favorite band now.. Besides the wilco's of course, but I haven't listened to them very much this year. Mostly due to a mediocre WTA, but I've just been listening to a lot of other great stuff. Dr. Dog - Easy Beat My favorite Dr. Dog album. Some aren't too keen on the not so great recording quality, but to me it makes the album.. It's raw, has that "in the basement" sound and to me it's their greatest record. Dr. Dog - We All Belong Not as g

What's the consensus on Wilco (The Album)?
lamradio replied to Shining Sunbeam's topic in Just A Fan
I listened to it the other night for the first time in months.. Enjoyed it very much actually.. Still the weakest record in their catalog (and yes that includes SBS and AM) in my opinion, but it's still a solid album. -
Found them Awesome, thanks!

I showed these to my six year old (don't worry he's not old enough to understand the "not safe for six year olds" pics).. He's a HUGE Star Wars fan, and loves them.. He wants to know where he can see more..

That might have something to do with it. I'm pretty sure there is a limit on the percentage of alchohol that can be sold. SC does have some crazy liqueur laws, but we are getting better.. Now you can buy beer on Sundays in Greenville City, in bars and stores! For the longest time, you had to go to the NC border to buy beer on Sunday. Not sure about World Market, but I'll have to checkout Trader Joe's. Haven't been to one of those in years, didn't realize they carried the beery goodness.

The only thing I don't like about this thread (other than it causes me to salivate on my keyboard) is I see all of these great beers, but I can't ever find them anywhere.. Some are pretty exotic and can't be found at your usual beer/liqueur store. We have a store called "Greens" in South Carolina that carries hundreds of exotic beers, but rarely the one's listed here.. Indeed it is. Many have come close, but no one can truly match The Guinness.
