That sounds like a much more Beltmann-appropriate day than Farm Aid!

I think this lineup rules. No Gretchen Wilson!!! I prefer Dave Matthews solo. Band of Horses is awesome. I've never seen them. I've never seen The BoDeans or Norah Jones. I used to love the BoDeans before I even knew who Wilco was. I can probably convince my nieces to go because of Jason Mraz ( ) Last time I attended Farm Aid, when Kenny Chesney took the stage, we made that our dinnertime. Worked really well. And Amos Lee, Robert Francis? I don't really know about them. But I sorta like the Jeff Tweedy and Neil Young part of this deal.

No secret story or anything. Just that some lines in "New Madrid" are based on true facts about the destructive earthquake that happened in New Madrid, MO, in the 1800's, and the man, a Mr. Browning, who created a stir by making predictions in the 1990's about another earthquake in New Madrid.

Finally! The documentary will be released!

"You're just a man in a room with a checkbook." Ouch.

That kind of "co-headlining" show IMO is ultimately unsatisfying for me. You don't get full sets from either band, time only allows a greatest hits kind of show (and we've all heard the hits). We want the rarities. Plus, ticket prices are higher (two bands need to get paid), and they would probably be in a big-ass arena with shitty sound and, seriously, that's just not what I consider a great experience anymore. I'll hold out for more intimate shows, go see one band I like at a time, play in mid-size to larger historic theaters, and get a full set of songs with nicer sound quality. Maybe

This is pretty f'n awesome!

why do you doubt that?

I'm no expert on these things, but the Wilco policy is still this: (according to the policy page here )

I'm pretty sure we would have noticed if Jeff had teeny feet by now. And I guess I'm not helping you stop shopping, but there are men's sizes. Click here. These are some crazy socks!

OK, I got 1 from Via Harvard, and they're gone.

The new Los Lobos is sounding really good to me today. I need to see this band. Listen to it all on NPR: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=128540202&sc=nl&cc=mn-20100727

This thread has a lot of information about the intro music. http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/42961-wilco-intros/

Ahhh, ok. Thanks, Brianne! I should have searched VC, it would have shown up. I know I searched over at wilcobase for it, and nothing came up. Apparently the LR shows are not included in Wilcobase?

What an incredible show. So many rare songs! Jeff & Susan cannot be thanked enough for being so good to the charity and so good to the fans. We were lucky people last night. The rain stayed away. The hosts Maureen & Erik and family were superb and entertained us royally ... unending thanks to them for their generosity. Seriously, everything was so absolutely perfect! There were 17 in our group who were newbies witnessing a charity fundraiser living room show for the first but hopefully not last time. The "awe" quotient was extremely high. But without their generosity to

I'm with Solace here. Seriously, I don't bother with 30-second sound bites as they never work for me. I have to have a nice quiet setting with 100% focus, and all the songs in good sound quality before listening to a new album by a band I really like.

Most VC'ers I know wait in line at the venue before a GA show. That's the place to be! I, however, will be sliding in right before Yo La Tengo starts, since I already know I'm sitting in the back. Thank goodness, it's cooling off a bit next week! South Bend Weather Forecast: Fri Jul 30 high 82° low 67° chance of precipitation: 10%

You're kidding ... the Tavern? It's a tiny place! Awesome.

I like this band. I'm a newbie. They put on an incredibly great performance a couple of weeks ago here in FTW and I'm looking forward to this new release. It was only available on cassette ( ) at the show, so I passed since my cassette player options are practically nonexistent at this point. They sure had the crowd very dancy!

The Books are amazing. And Pronto? Hell yes! I wouldn't skip Friday if I was going.

Do you see the word "view" at the end of each song title in the poll? Click on that. Maybe it's only moderator status, but this is a newer feature of the board that I have noticed. PS, thanks for the vote, Lou! But I think at this point "You Are My Face" has "Sky Blue Sky" beat by far.
