  1. I wasn't going to listen! But I caved. Really loving it! Half-way in.
  2. Wendy

    2011 tour dates?

I saw him there too -- you're right, not so great. I sure hope they raise the orchestra pit floor and add seats. Maybe that isn't how this venue is built. I don't know. But it was still a real orchestra pit for Andrew Bird, and it was weird (and pretty disappointing) to have seats in row 2 yet still be about 20 rows away from the stage.
  3. Seriously one of my favorite Nick Lowe songs. Hey, maybe Wilco will play it with Nick Lowe next month!?! Okay, well, a girl can dream, right?
  4. That is hilarious! I love Tom Waits! Must get the deluxe edition, and I will be anxiously awaiting concert dates.
  5. Totally love Wilfred. Last night's best laugh for me: Ryan: You son of a bitch! Wilfred: How is that an insult? I've never understood that.
  6. You won't be entered in the drawing. That's about it.
  7. Hey PopTodd, I thought of you Saturday night when Eef Barzelay from Clem Snide was in my city and played a solo show (after having performed the prior night with the Ft. Wayne Philharmonic which was awesome). He did a bunch of Journey covers because they have been recording a "Clem Snide covers Journey" thing for fans, and then broke into ... *drum roll* ... Neutral Milk Hotel "Aeroplane Over the Sea" which soooo caught me off guard, and blew me away it was so beautiful. Never thought I'd be hearing that song that night.
  8. It was mentioned by RainDogToo earlier this morning here after he had listened to Jeff on a radio show in North Adams promoting the Solid Sound Festival.
  9. I still laugh at this song. Every time. Harry pokin' fun at country music. And "You're Breaking My Heart" is pretty funny too.
  10. Marah does rock the house. They were just here in my city and they were temporarily only a 4-piece due to somebody unable to get there ... and still totally entertained. So I hope the brothers work together again. I've seen them twice now, never with Serge, but still a great live band.
  11. Vibes all around! Do what the doctor says or get a second opinion.
  12. Poster art by Dan MacAdam of Crosshair Chicago We also had a very limited edition second poster by one of the members of our group, but I don't have a photo of it. I hope someone can post it. It's very cool!
  13. Yes. Well, not my personal living room, but one in Chicago.
  14. This is a beautiful performance. Jeff performed it Saturday night and commented that the title of this song is actually "Open Mind"
  15. It was something all right! Can't wait to see them again soon. I love the extended "Off The Record" how it ends so trippy, as on the Okonokos DVD. I hope Wilco can do one of those American Express "Unstaged" live shows someday, like the ones Arcade Fire and now MMJ have done. Tony, get the band signed up! Although when the credits ran at the end, I was really surprised how many people it took to make it happen. Here's Wordless Chorus with Erykah Badu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUWBOdK7h1w
  16. Look - it's one of our celebrity VC members, Ken Jennings of Jeopardy fame, tweeting from Sasquatch!
  17. Jff, have you had your kitty examined by a vet, and if so, what do they recommend?

  19. I'm not going to the Louisville show May 31st, but I'll be watching it on my computer live on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8_tOrH51QI&feature=player_profilepage
  20. Enjoying listening to Helplessness Blues by Fleet Foxes (streaming in full right now on NPR before May 3 release date). The way these guys harmonize is
  21. I always wondered what happened to her career, as she was pretty well known back in the day. And 60 is definitely way too young. Wow. RIP Phoebe Snow.
  22. Yeah, first listen to this one didn't catch me like the song "Circuital" did.
  23. You're just in time to follow along from the beginning. "Born Alone" and "Open Up Your Mind" have been debuted on the recent solo gigs. Maybe more, that's all I can think of right now. If no one comes up with links, check out the "After the Show" section and you'll see the shows listed, and maybe you'll find a link somewhere in those threads.
