  1. I second that motion. Maybe it's just us 50+ year olds. But that album is done and over for me due to a college roommate who played it ad nauseum. Literally. And as for Adele, I have never heard anything by her.
  2. Good news! Thanks Wilcoworld for making it easy again!
  3. I'm totally digging the new Andrew Bird album. It's different and slower and profoundly moving me today. Thank you NPR! http://n.npr.org/NPRI/jN286620622_1221125_1221121_Z.htm
  4. It's an email from Jam Productions http://jamusa.com/
  5. Dear God, are all of these tickets with ticket brokers? Please say no. Not a fundraiser. That's just so wrong. Stub Hub shows 260 tickets. ... for Saturday alone.
  6. City Suites is literally right around the corner from The Vic, and I've stayed there once. It is old but fairly nice, a little pricey IMO ($150+), and you are literally RIGHT next to the El, so you'll hear the trains rolling. But I don't think you can get closer to The Vic unless you do what Wilco Me just explained above. The Vic is right on the Brown Line, so you don't have to stay close by. Here's a link to LouieB's informative "Visiting Chicago" thread here at VC. http://viachicago.org/topic/35877-going-to-chicagowhat-to-do-see-stay-etc/
  7. I got in but too late for the gold. Oh well ... I'm in the house and happy about that!
  8. I so love these Vic fundraiser shows. Thanks for letting us know! Can't wait to hear some of the new songs performed solo!!! And some good stories from the last year. See ya'll in line!
  9. I'll bet it was a really close contest. Are the number of votes ever released?
  10. Howe Gelb!?! Niiiiiiiice. Looking forward to this. I haven't been let down by M.Ward so far, not that I spend a great deal of time listening to him at this point, but I always like it when he comes up on the mix..
  11. Today Conan, tomorrow the new iTunes album? Yippee!!!
  12. Hilarious! At first I thought Jeff was holding a guitar, but now I see it's a crowbar! Ha! But seriously -- Nels in bellbottoms?

    Detroit

I remember them pulling this deal at the MMJ show at the Fillmore in Detroit a few years back. Basically, big burly bouncers walk up and down the GA queue and seek out (i.e. repeatedly shouting at you) for anyone with a Fast Lane ticket to go over to the other side of the sidewalk where there is a shorter "first in" line started there. Nothing like a bunch of pissed off GA line-standers hearing this over and over again. I recall a very PO'd Ms. Yvon.
  14. I'd write to the mgmt company for Wilco. TMM. Their info is on the band's website. Maybe they can't do anything either, but it couldn't hurt to try. Good luck.
  15. I like to see Wilco choose independent/historic venues rather than Live Nation owned corporate venues.
  16. Nice things for you to remember about this talented artist and his band. I have seen them perform live, and they bring the house down.
  17. This is just the best ... thing ... ever! I am highly entertained by stop motion video tho.
  18. I like Magnet as well. I'll have to re-up my sub and order this copy too.
  19. Check your private messages! Oops, nevermind. I just found out my friends want balcony GA.
  20. Are these floor GA or balcony GA?
  21. Everything you've all posted above, agree. My head spinning since the last 3 episodes have aired. They were just incredible. I'm with you all, can't wait for the next season. But ... how did Walt get the baby to eat the poisoned cigarette? Did I miss something? I had no idea lily of the valley had a poisonous component.

    Metro-tastic

If it's the Aragon Ballroom, I'm out. Hate that place.
