  1. Nice reportage, Mr. Heartbreak! Loving the "Dear Prudence" cover.
  2. Good! He's awesome. Just listened to a great YLT song he recorded from Maxwell's. http://www.nyctaper.com/ Beautiful matrix.
  3. This opens up a whole new territory for cover requests in LR shows. Oh boy.
  4. Here's a link to a VC thread about the in-depth Tweedy/Wilco article in July 2013 Chicago Magazine, although like Jules said, no commentary on Jim O'Rourke. http://viachicago.org/topic/49042-chicago-magazine-july-2013-interview/
  5. Here's a link kindly sent to us ("to share with fans") courtesy the author, Terry Noland, who attended our LR show. This Chicago Magazine article is now on the shelf at bookstores. Barnes & Noble has it. http://www.chicagomag.com/Chicago-Magazine/July-2013/Summer-Music-Tonight-Jeff-Tweedy-Is-Your-Opening-Act/
  6. Anyone watching the band? Calexico are joining Wilco for their beautiful version of California Stars!
  7. Appreciate you posting your show setlist and poster, Kenny! Both really cool! But seriously, no one asked for Laminated Cat/Not For The Season? Shocking! hahaha. I sure did enjoy the photos you all posted on Facebook, with so many smiling faces!!!
  8. Yeah, you add the beach, ocean, pools, resort accommodations, plus all-inclusive, this is a different level of rock vacation/tourism and definitely different than Solid Sound. If one could swing doing both of them, June in the Birkshires, and January in Mexico, you'd be one lucky music fan.
  9. woah ... definitely one big holiday! http://mmjonebigholiday.com/
  10. Happy June! To be released June 11, 2013. Nice article in Billboard on JV's use of Kickstarter for this album -- it was well funded. His fans came through quite well for him! I have not heard his David Bovie covers yet. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/1549799/qa-john-vanderslice-on-kickstarter-success-dagger-beach-and-covering-david I kicked in for the CD, because I love JV. And I really like this new one, Dagger Beach. Loved Pixel Revolt, too. He's doing the living room shows, like many on Undertow. On the West Coast for now, I hope he comes to the midwest somewhere so
  11. Beacon Theater? Lucky!!!!!
  12. Yes! Had to check, that was a long time ago. Fun thread. Good times! Atticus, that was a special kind of nirvana for you, alright. It was all members of our group this year and I'll let them identify themselves publicly here if they wish. In case they want to remain "incognito."
  13. Yes! "Black Moon" and it was perfection! Lots of talent at this show: Violin on "Black Moon" Keyboards on "God" Keyboards & vocals on "You & I" Keyboards on "Company in My Back" Guitar on "I'm The Man Who Loves You"
  14. Save some dough if you're thinking of buying this: "Honky Tonk" is available for $5, digital download, from Amazon through May 15th. http://www.amazon.com/Honky-Tonk-Son-Volt/dp/B00B00HSUO/ref=ntt_mus_ep_dpi_1
  15. Probably payback for all those years trying to stump him. ... or maybe it was in retaliation for "Rainbow.Connection" But really, my take was that he just didn't feel like playing it compared to your second choice, which was one of his songs, "What's the World Got in Store" - - a fantastic pick, and it's certainly not as difficult to sing.
  16. No! Never saw it until now, nalafej -- thanks so much for posting it. It's great. I'll bet Glenn had fun making new noises! (Jeff has said before at a LRS that everywhere Glenn goes, he taps on stuff. i.e. hotel wall hangings, sculptures, anything to make new sounds.)
  17. Oh, I thought she said to Jeff, "You put it on there." (This is why I like all the banter left on the show CD, because I miss a lot being on sensory overload etc at the moment, and then subsequently forget even more when when it is cut out, as my memory is for shit at this age!)
  18. Anybody who was there, please chime in! I've only been home since last night and have to work, so can't do much right now. I will say this to anyone curious about the new album, (which I'm sure is most of you), we asked, and there was NO NEWS! Nothing! We tried, it's too early to share. But we did get to hear a cut from Mavis' new album which was "One True Vine" which you all know is sort of an outtake that missed, what, Sky Blue Sky? But hearing Mavis sing it, she just owns this 100%. Just stunning. And the version we listened to was sans keyboards, apparently, which was (accordi
