  1. - I'm here although I am skippy too! Oh well, it's better than nothing I guess. Hey, quit bogarting that joint, kidsmoke!
  2. Same sentiments here. The Jackson 5 played in Fort Wayne in the summer of 1971, when I was 15 and that makes Michael Jackson age 12 at the time. Somehow we ended up in the first 5 rows stage front at the big coliseum here, and Michael Jackson was so adorable and charming on stage (by age 12, of course, he was already a professional entertainer), and so obviously gifted - the little star who was destined for so much more. But I never expected the weirdness. It was very sad to watch him and his fame turn so devastating over the years, but I'm sure glad I had that early experience. RIP Micha
  3. Hey Kevan - welcome to Via Chicago! This link will take you to the section where you can check into either B&P or torrents ... hope this helps! http://forums.viachicago.org/forum/30-greatest-lost-track-of-all-time/
  4. Don't know if this will help, but here's Wilco's ride-sharing info: http://www.wilcoworld.net/ If you click on the above link to get to Wilcoworld.net, you will see a rotating ticker news blurb - one of these says this: "Wilco partners with ZimRide for Passenger Side Version 2.0" And then you can click on the link below to get to the ZimRide Wilco info. http://apps.facebook.com/carpool/v2/ride/add?event_page_id=64&WILCO-_-PASSENGER-SID=true
  5. This is mine from a long time ago, not so great I realize, but I never expected Glenn to breathe fireballs!
  6. Would you or anyone care to rank the top 5 (or whatever) albums for a newbie? He's been around awhile and I'd love to hear what you all consider his best.
  7. You can just reply to your own post and say "still looking for tickets" or something like that.
  8. No he did not have the surgery (look back a few posts for the statement made by his friend, Bob Andrews, from his label, Undertow Music). http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/40162-jay-bennett-r-i-p/page__view__findpost__p__1339923
  9. Dammit - this is the same day as Son Volt in Indy at The Vogue which I was hoping to attend. Now I have to choose.
  10. perv Did you just apply it? In this thread I can see avatars and some more buttons from my pathetically ancient IE6 work PC. That's new.

  13. Wow - that's a long interview. I don't know anything about this guy (and I obviously need to! What I heard was great!!!) but it was nice to hear him mention Jay Bennett. Thanks for the link.

  15. Ugh, I agree. Horrible. And what's with the pale woman sitting in her chair wearing a pioneer era slip?
  16. Maybe if people want them, they'll send you a private message. You are not bad! Your heart is in the right place or you would not have bothered to offer up your concerns about being appropriate to share the edited versions. I have a lot of difficulty listening to the recordings in my car due to the banter and volume highs and lows and find myself constantly reaching for the volume button, and that's not particularly safe IMO. Analogman, great post.
  17. Yes! I'm reporting him to Donna!

    You talkin' about this? http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/40364-too-epic/
  19. Aw, you should go if it's at the Crofoot. Great place to see anybody. I do recall enjoying being up-close and center stage for Calexico not long ago.
  20. Oh - and I'll warn you about the tour poster. It is really cool. I bought it ($25) and they handed me a very skinny plastic bag. YOU have to roll it up. HOWEVER - it is on very heavy card stock, which caused the first problem - I was unsuccessful rolling it small enough to fit the plastic bag. So as I unrolled it, I notice my fingernails brushed against the black background and left marks on the poster. I don't have long girly nails by a longshot. So this can happen to anyone. But now I'm not happy about this damage to the design, and the clerk refused to give me a fresh one. "It was
  21. Yes - that black rocker T was available at the merch table in Cinci. So who knows, maybe the cherry ghost T will show up down the road on tour. But it wasn't there on Friday night, opening night for the US leg of the Summer Tour 2009. There was a whole-tour poster and in Cinci there was a limited edition poster with a pig on it. There was a new T (maybe for girls?) powder blue that has a cute owl on it. A stylized drawing, not a copy of the macrame owl (who is on the road with Wilco again!)
  22. The cherry ghost T was not on sale in Cincinnati. But they had quite a few new items, both useful (the Green Bottle) and very funny/odd (the first ever Wilco Tour Program). My favorite part? The mug shots of the backstage crew. Poor Stan. All I can say is, bring a few extra bucks.
