  1. :birthday happyhappy dayday gogo :party (sorry, I think I'm suffering from flashbacks from Mike's Psychedelic Birthday Party! )
  2. I got section 1 row F, but that's pretty close up. I always like being more center, but for a solo show it's not very important sound-mix wise.
  3. You're still watching, aren't you!
  4. Oh, they're really playful right now. Biting! Chewing! and Sitting on each other!
  5. Have a terrific day Brianne! Here's hoping there's a trip to New Zealand in your future, say maybe around the first week of January!
  6. Hope it was a wonderful day Pocahontas!
  7. http://www.fabchannel.com/calexico_concert An ENTIRE Calexico concert filmed by Fabchannel of the Paradiso show in Amsterdam Oct 15, 2008. Dammit! I want this on DVD!!! Can't wait for Thursday's show in Detroit!!!!! It's going to be hard to resist coming to Chicago Friday for the Metro show. Plus: Joey Burns interview with Pitchfork posted this week: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/feat...erview-calexico And a Sound Opinions in-studio performance (3 songs or so?) and interview with Greg Kot and Jim DeRogatis in Chicago: http://www.soundopinion
  8. Hope you don't mind, but two dates in a row DOES sound promising. So I split your thread to stand alone from the Ann Arbor on Jan 30th JT solo show. *keeps fingers crossed for more to appear!* Edited: And I saw JT at this venue in Champaign a couple years ago -- it is a nice venue and should be a great concert. I personally hope he comes somewhere closer to home, as road travel in January in the midwest is iffy, at least for me anyway.
  9. This is a really nice video of the band, one of my favorite songs, too. Thanks for the link! That was a beautiful day in Chicago.
  10. Well, sorry to not really be of much help, but the (old) link in my signature line that Renic mentioned was simply a link to a photo at gigposters.com of a poster I was looking for. My link said "If anyone knows where I can find this poster, please let me know. It was the first Wilco show I ever saw and I can't find it anywhere." Ultimately another Via Chicago member saw my signature line link and knew a friend who had it, who then sold it to me. So other than posting your thread here at Via Chicago as you have done, and checking eBay, gigposters.com, etc, I don't know. I've got a few i
  11. Yay Fruit Bats! Good to hear something solid like this. It's been too long since Spelled in Bones!
  12. I have that CD. Wow, I haven't thought about it in a long long time, but it didn't get pitched in the last "make room for more CDs" sweep (running out of space always) so I guess I harbor some feeling for it still. I should listen to it again. FWIW (and also apropos of nothing): It sits between an embarassingly unopened "Dandy Warhols - Welcome to the Monkey House" and a listened-only-twice "Ray Davies - Other People's Lives"

  14. Have a great day Rob! Hooray for Rob and Wilcobase! Wilcobase is one of my favorite Wilco sites ever!
  15. YAY!!! Not that Indiana will change anything at this point, but it sure would be nice to be with Ohio in the "did good this time" column. Good work Scott and all you who came to Indiana to help nudge it for Obama!
  16. Nice cake Elizabeth! Scott, I hope you bought your tequila yesterday ... no liquor sales in Indiana on Election Day! Any other states have that rule? I'll be half-working and half-watching MSNBC! C'mon Indiana!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Oh, now that is just damn heartbreaking. He must be so thankful he went to see her when he did, but still, so sad for the family.
  18. The question CrushOfVeils80 asked in a separate thread was "What is everyone's favorite song off 'Cardinology'?" ... and I merged it with our super-duper Ryan Adams thread. Just keepin' it tidy for Ryan. My answer thus far is "Fix-It" but I haven't given the album a proper spin yet. Not enough time!
  19. "Pecan Pie" always makes me smile. "The Moonbeam Song" by Harry Nilsson "The Puppy Song" by Harry Nilsson "The Coconut Song" by Harry Nilsson Yeah, okay. So I'm still obsessing over HN.

    Woah!

Yes you were, silly. You and Rosie hosted "Super Summit 2004 (pix)" pre-party! First time for me meeting a bunch of VC'ers! Fun! (I shouldn't spend so much time looking through these old archives, but they are sorta funny.) Super Summit 2004!" from the VC archive I believe I blew off my niece's Confirmation in order to be at that Sunday night show. And wasn't Susan Tweedy up in the third tier giving away choice pit seats or something like that? Ticket fairy!!! (edit - yes she was! http://archive.viachicago.org/index.php?showtopic=6988 ) Also, at this time Wilco had announced
  21. Sauteeing garlic or onions in olive oil, like when you make spaghetti sauce from scratch . Baking snickerdoodles. The first thing when you walk in the door at mom's when she's made a roast beef. The second you open a new package of good coffee beans. New car!
