Lilac's duet with Tweedy: This is the pick of the trio of photos that can be found here, along with others that were taken 4 mos. to the day! in Charlotte, NC. Flickr Set

Hey Julie and the "Rain" family... I'll be posting some pics back here later tonight of Lilac's moment on stage. I didn't get many, but I squeezed off a good, tight shot of Lilac singing with Jeff that I'm quite proud of, considering I was using a point-and-shoot. I'm still reeling after that show. What a magical, magical evening. It will not soon be forgotten by this long-time fan. cheers, kevin

I was alble to see four Tom Waits shows on the Orphans tour from last year. ATLANTA: the first night I was on the floor, dead center, behind one other person. ASHEVILLE: the second night, I was seated, front row center. AKRON / CLEVELAND: the last night of the tour, I caught him in Akron (seats weren't bad at all) and then lucked up and met a fellow straydog that had an extra ticket to Cleveland HOB for the final show of the tour, and I made my way up really close for that. Seeing Tom Waits in his first club gig in like 30 years-- priceless. It's pretty safe to say that will never happen

Sex months ago I would've said: "Far, Far, Away" but lately it's more like "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" Maybe, eventually the "Mountain Bed" will come around again, but it'll be "Someone Else's Song" by then. cheers, b.s.

I find myself hoping that this might be the case with the Charlottesville show. As one who tends to line up early for a GA show, this would definitely shave some time off standing around before Wilco comes on. Maybe I'll meet some other VC'ers in line. That would be a bonus. cheers, b.s.

That is too funny.

just to bump it up a bit... still no official word at the Wilco HQ or the coliseum site. wouldn't hurt my feelings if they had no opener at all, but then again, they've picked some quality acts. i.e.: A. Bird. Just wish he could hold on for those last two dates. cheers, b.s.

Please correct me if I've got this wrong, but in the event of a crashed iPod, wouldn't you still be able to restore the iPod with the songs that are in your existing iTunes library? Good luck! cheers, b.s.

Manslaughter would really be the more appropriate term. Or maybe Murder II, but there was zero pre-meditation. No jury in the US would convict that kid of Murder I. All that aside, I'm curious to see what direction this takes. I would have much rather that they dialed 9-1-1 instead of dumping that sack of sh!t off the bridge. cheers, b.s.

Yeah, I kind of agree. But you have to admit, the guy had to do something; he simply reacted in a moment of passion. You're right though, this changes everything; just as it would in real life. b.s.

I thought that was very apropos. Seems like Wilco are ubiquitous all of a sudden. Not that I mind it one bit--except for the fact that tickets may be harder to get. cheers, b.s.

Last night, I got around to watching the recording of this week's episode of "Bionic Woman". I'm still on the fence whether I like the show or not, but my ears pricked up during several scenes from the episode, as it featured songs from SBS. "Sky Blue Sky" and "What Light". Very subtle, and scene-appropriate. cheers, b.s.

I'm super curious to know if the last two dates Pittsburgh and Charlottesville (not counting the festival date in Louisiana) will have an opener or not? No mention on the official website and no word yet on VC that I've found. cheers, b.s.

Pat Boone, Debbie Boone, Pat Boone, Debbie Boone
bigshoulders replied to bigshoulders's topic in Just A Fan
Sweet! Thanks for the help! Using the setlist matcher, I found this on WilcoBase http://wilcobase.com/event.php?event_key=961 I know, I should have looked here first, but you all are so darn helpful and I knew someone knew... b.s. -
Lucky Ducks! in Minn. you get the full-bird-band. Anyone know who's opening up in Charlottesville, VA?? cheers, b.s.

Okay, I have a live mp3 of "Let's Fight" from an unknown source. (Got if off the innerweb.) And at the end of the song, Jeff has this banter that goes something like this: "I learned something from my friend Pat over here on this trip--that this drum fill that starts this song is called 'Pat Boone, Deb-bie Boone, Pat Boone, Deb-bie Boone.'"So my question is simple: What show is this from? My gut feeling is it's from one of the Australian shows, but I want to pinpoint this sucker and hit the bittorrent when I get home. Any help greatly appreciated! cheers, b.s.

sorry... it looks like youtube has pulled the video... I didn't realize that.

The Assassination Of Jesse James . . . you know the rest
bigshoulders replied to Big Perm's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Has anyone read the novel? I picked it up at a local used bookstore the other day along with JKT's The Neon Bible. I started reading that one first b/c it was shorter, but The Assassination of Jesse James... was a Pen / Faulkner Award finalist, I think. cheers, b.s. -
No time like the present! Happy Birthday and safe travels, b.s.

The Cat Power / Cat Stevens song might be "How Can I Tell You". It was featured prominently around Christmastime, but I've started to see another commercial which uses the same song. Here's the commercial courtesy of youtube. cheers, b.s.
