  1. Are the at-the-show posters numbered differently, part of the "first pull" or something to that effect? The reason being, if they are all one in the same, I'd be more inclined to just buy them after the fact, and not worry about keeping a $25 poster wrinkle-free for 2+ hours. cheers, bigshoulders
  2. Hey Bill! I guess it goes without saying you'd be at Charleston, my friend. kevin
  3. Aye chihuahua. I went out and got some good cold-weather gear yesterday, knowing full-well I would be regretting it later if I relied on my Sprawl-Mart gloves to keep me warm.
  4. Try the "How to Fight Loneliness" section of the board. http://forums.viachicago.org/index.php?showforum=26 Best of luck to you! cheers, b.s.

  6. Tangara, No, I haven't tried the Etymotic plugs. Maybe when I'm ready for a new pair, I'll consider those. They are similar in style to the MusicSafe Pro plugs, in that they claim to attenuate frequencies evenly. The selling point for the MusicSafe Pro was having the choice of filters. Kevin
  7. Here's another product that is available out there: http://www.herbslay.com/pd.asp?id=5547&ClearTinnitus It's some sort of herbal remedy. I haven't tried it yet, because I simply don't like taking a bunch of pills, and my condition isn't as bad to warrant the daily expense. I've read the bottle at Walgreens (drugstore) and decided not to start taking them, b/c once you start taking them, if you stop taking them, the tinnitus returns. I think you'll find the Musician earplugs from my earlier post to be very comfortable. They pack up nicely, too, in a nifty case. cheers, Kevin
  8. Pookie, Post back here post-treatment. I'm curious to know if this would help my tinnitus. Cheers, Kevin
  9. All I gotta say... is that Aretha's spaghetti strap better not break. We'd have a wardrobe CATASTROPHE on our hands!
  10. I am a Tinnitus sufferer as well. Although I clearly don't have as bad a case as some folks, it is an ever-present condition. I go to sleep at night, it's there. I wake up, it's there. To those uninitiated to this medical condition take heed: If you don't protect your ears, you will most certainly damage them if you frequent concerts, listen to ear phones, or any number of things. There's tinnitus, but there's also full-blown loss of hearing. I think my hearing is actually quite good, despite the incessant ringing. You asked for advice... although certainly not the "Cadillac" as far as
  11. Another Wilco moment... "In a Future Age". Not that I needed another reason to watch, but whomever is programming the music is definitely like-minded. cheers, kevin
  12. I've often wondered that myself... but I'm content with being Misunderstood. k
  13. I've seen John Neff play with the Truckers, but this was back in '99, during the heyday of "Pizza Deliverance" tour. I think the DBTs were a side-project for Neff, back then. I love me some pedal steel. That's great to know that he's still playing. Thanks, Cortez! kevin
  14. I was telling Isadorah just the other day that one of my favorite songs from the MA collaboration is "She Came Along to Me" which features Bragg on vox. Musically speaking, this is a brilliant song that although it doesn't feature Tweedy's voice, is a great song nonetheless. The non-Tweedy vox songs shouldn't be overlooked. After all, the collaboration wasn't lyrical, it was musical. cheers, kevin
  15. A better question would be: Why would you trust him with another poster?
  16. Back in the day, I really loved the Star Room Boys. That whole album Why Do Lonely Men and Women Want to Break Each Other's Hearts would go well with the whole feeling sorry for oneself, crying in your beer kind of jag. I honestly have no reason to bring that one off the shelf, except for nostalgia... which is good enough reason anyhow. I thought I was the only one that knew who those guys were. It's too bad they busted up. I saw one of their last shows in Asheville, NC. They broke up shortly thereafter. I can't recall what year it was. cheers, Kevin
  17. A few more for the pyre: Jeff Buckley - Last Goodbye Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart Beck - Lost Cause Cat Power - Good Woman Star Room Boys - Why Do Lonely Men and Women Want to Break Each Other's Hearts The Smiths - Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want Don't wait too long before you get back in the saddle. Wallowing in self-pity has its moments, but it gets mighty old after a while. Trust me on that one. There's someone else out there that gets you. cheers, kevin
  18. I'm with you. When they take the stage on Friday night and kick off what will most certainly be a memorable week, it won't make a hill of beans difference what the ticket looks like. cheers, kevin Thanks froggie! I could totally see my own putties doing this sort of thing, were I to allow it.
  19. I meant to pipe up the day the e-mail came across, but MusicToday did send out a notification that my 5-day pass was on it's way last Friday. I'm thinking it'll come in tomorrow's mail. Wonder what the pass will look like? Hopefully something artful, and not just a dorky looking ticket. I've got loads of those. I'm sure there'll be plenty of opportunities to meet up during the Wilco Residency. I don't post all that often, but I'd love to meet up with some more VC regulars. I've never met a VC-er that I didn't like. See some of you soon, and others... later. Kevin
  20. I only have a couple of Wilco boots on my iPod, and I gots to say, this one is definitely one to travel with! Somehow I don't think that gang will ever get the memo. It's in their DNA or something. They can't even read, for one. cheers, b.s.
  21. I remember my mom putting the stuff on my chest if I had congestion. But she would never allow me to go outside in the cold if I still had that on my chest. She said it would "drive the cold in" or something to that effect, and would make me sicker. I had to wash the stuff off before going out. Sounds like your Grace is a wee one, and wouldn't be running around outside anyhow, so no worries there. : ) cheers, b.s.
  22. But the amount of money saved by NOT buying a Pass and opting for a wristband will pretty much cover your airfare to and from Austin. Plus you miss out on opportunities to meet cool people while waiting in line. b.s.
  23. Would Nels have to wear the same socks all 5 nights? cheers, b.s.
