Yes the sight of thousands of people desperately looking for a 'record player' whilst stuck on site. Paul, you could make a fortune that weekend with exclusive listening sessions! Great news though!!
-
So that's what you were doing that night in Eindhoven?!! I've often layed awake at night wondering about that...
-
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yehhhhh and he's very entertaining both pre and post show - especially when left to his own devices with bars in Muenchen... I vote that this thread is bumped up to the top of the list at least once a week - once a day even!!

Anyone hear any more news about European dates in October? Desperately needing a fix this side of the pond...
-
That is until it's given the 15 minute krautrock work out - we live in hope!!

Hmmm The Latebirds... Finland's greatest wilco impersonators, I'd (thankfully forgotten) their name. They went on so long and were sooooooo dull. Carla Bozulich opened for our first three Wilco shows in Paris, Ghent and Amsterdam in 2007 - joined by Nels and Glenn at points in her set. She never seemed a particularly happy bunny... Now I think of it, most of the shows we've seen have been support - less. I can only think of Blitzen Trapper (Dublin Aug 09), a local solo singer who's name (and songs) escape me in Dublin 2007, Phil Selway on the last UK tour and Hannah Hukkleberg / John G

Most excellent! Thank you Turnips!!! Now we'll always have Muenchen...

Oh God! I'd forgotten about the synchronised clapping!! Just heard a feature on this show on Bavarian Radio (thank heavens for internet radio...): Interviews with Jeff and John and about 50 mins of the concert. The sound quality was awesome! Jeff wants to fight Mohammed Ali at Cirkus Krone (?) - Ali seemingly trained there once. Attention Poets and Bbop - We are also holding incriminating evidence of late night on-street (in the rain, but under umbrella) imbibance, which we promise not to release on to the internet for the price of two (very large) beers!!!! Though having looked at it

Yes Scotland did Wilco proud and Wilco duly responded in kind! What a show!!!! It was great to see a full Barrowlands giving such a response to the band, but they deserved it with some of the most impassioned playing I've seen. It had better not be another three years until they come back to Scotland! Anyway good to see BK and Bbop survived the no mean city. We're now getting ready for the next leg: Mission: Impossible Germany!

It's gotta be Handshake Drugs - long extended groove followed by a climax??

Lack of reportage skills and post show Bavarian beer hall inbibing mean that I can't report the set list in correct order, however these were definitely played: Ashes of American Flags I am trying to break your heart Black bull nova I'll Fight Sonny Feeling One Wing Country Disappeared (!) Impossible Germany Handshake Drugs Theologians (!!) Sky Blue Sky Hate it here Walken You never know Via Chicago California Stars Shot in the arm War on war Jesus etc Heavy Metal Drummer In the man who loves you Encore: The late greats I'm a wheel The Musikhuset is a superb new concert hall but lacked any

I won't win any awards for my reportage skills and since Sunday seems like weeks ago I cannot confirm a full set list, (plus I'm a little lagged having just come off the plane from Denmark) but would add that they definitely played Radio Cure, One by One, Either Way, in addition to those already mentioned. It was a very heavy SBS and WTA biased set with only two songs from Ghost, two from Summerteeth (VC and Shot)plus the usual suspects from YHF (IATTBYH, War on war, Jesus, HMD, ITMWLY) Due to lack of Swedish I was initially disappointed that what I thought were fifth row seats actually tur

Nice one - yes it seems the skies over Scandinavia will be ash free, so here's hoping for a good trip from tomorrow. However the weather forecast ain't great - typical! we leave Scotland in the first decent weather for months and it's going to rain in Stockholm - oh well may'be it'll be dry come Aarhus. Is there going to be any Finnish coverage - c'mon guys we know you are out there! Anyway let's get ready to rock Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!
-
Nope sorry - it's got to be SWTS - the blues swagger with waltz tempo change into two fantastic Nels solos, that are kept beautifully succinct - no contest really...!
-
We're due to fly out to Stockholm Friday night, so here's hoping for sky blue(ash free) skies. The gereral prediction according to the met office is that the ash cloud should move away to the north over the next few days. Fingers well and truly crossed...

We are booked to go to the Cirkus show (and Aarhus in Denmark on the 26th also) but I am also getting worried about this volcanic ash cloud. Part of the problem this year is that the winds haven't swung round to the south east which are normally prominent well before May. We've had a lot of airport closures in Scotland and even if the airport opens in time for the flight, there's no guarantee that your plane is 'in the right place' to allow your flight to run. However we have three days to get there before the show so here's hoping. I'm also looking at a back up plan to get to Denmark if

OK I have to say it - do we now refer to this only as 'W(TF)'???!!! It's only two days after my birthday - perfect!! - Ahhh - I'm on the wrong side of the planet...
-
Magnifique!!! - easily wins the award for best song off of W(TA) - tht rarely gets played...

Thanks for all the tips - I just think that when many other agencies can send you an e-ticket in seconds after confirmation now that the notion of sending out hard tickets by very expensive couriers is just a money making exercise for the agency. There's no way Eventim will be paying anywhere near that rate to do so. I accept they sent these out the day after they were booked and it was very efficient - but this is 2010. For example I got Wilco tix for Stockholm and Aarhus emailed to me in nano seconds from two separate countries. To rub it in, I had to make a 50 mile round trip to get

Just be aware that they are antiquated in their ticketing send out modes - they don't hold tickets at venues for you, they don't send out tickets as pdf files so you can print them off (unlike Ticketmaster in the Netherlands) - they do charge you over EU 39.00 for the priviledge of receiving your ticket outside of Germany - as I recently found to my cost...
-
I can't effing believe they are using that 'Trololo' intro - man I saw that on Aquarium Drunkard blog last weekend and having finshed pissing my pants, have had the tune stuck in my head ever since!!! It is pure comedy gold - they should project the video pre show too!
-
Yes a bit of a bloody shambles - Take Note TMM!!! - however I have my tix for Newcastle and Glasgow. A bit cheaper than LDN - but those bloody charges - it's ridiculous and there's no shopping basket you can add multiple bookings for, so I had to pay twice for postage (again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
-
First thing this morning the site says 'sold out' - does anyone know if this is true? 2K tix in 24 hours? really??
-
Mais non - c'est seul less than 3 years since Wilco was in Paris - it was my very first show!! - Mai 2007. So I too will sign the petit petition, to see Le Wilco back en la pays Francais!! (Apologies for the bad grammar....)
-
Getting mine now - not bloody cheap, especially when they add in the postage fees to send tix back to dear old land of the deep fried pizzas. Oh well, what can you do. The Dussledorf venue looks absolutely fantastic though!!
