Friday fun..what is the best thing you ever found?
stooka replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I found an envelope with over $300 in it. My friends mom saw me and made me knock on the closest door to see if it was theirs. It was a lady's paycheck. She gave me $5 for returning it. I also found a bag of weed once. In a fried chicken box outside the store. This was 1978 mind you. Back then I looked down a lot... -
Dr. Dog - Be The Void (February 7, 2012)
stooka replied to RainDogToo's topic in Someone Else's Song
Dr Dog has a way of not really impressing you at first, but after just a few listens you're finding yourself singing their songs whilst taking your morning shower. -
Ended up with only a few hours to see the sights, so we drove past the Rose Bowl (under construction) and headed to Hollywood. Stopped by the In & Out Burger and rode through the hills, down Sunset blvd and Hollywood blvd. The food was ridiculously good everywhere we ate and The Langham in Pasadena was one of the better hotels I've stayed in. Thanks for the input and on my next trip will defifitely see The Getty.

Things close to the West Hollywood and Pasadena area then, since I'd like to avoid as much traffic as possible. Thanks!

Going there Friday for my nephew's wedding on Sunday. Have never been before. Question: If you only had time to see or do one thing in LA, what would it be?

Yes, AC/DC is the next logical choice!

M. Ward - A Wasteland Companion (April 10th)
stooka replied to RainDogToo's topic in Someone Else's Song
As if I needed one more reason to love that spring is coming. This tops the list!! M Ward always delivers, so I'm not worried whether or not it will be exciting, touching or brilliant, -

A legend! I prefer his first two records over anything that came later on, but still one of the best around. .... and how about Mike Campbell? That guy really deserves a lot of credit for Tom's success.

Sounds like Jeff is trying to convince someone that he isn't loving every aspect of city life. "Maybe we should break up"? Oops! Did I say that out loud? Haha I really like this song! Plenty going on lyrically and musically. Easily, the most interesting song on the record for me!
