I think it's an unusual choice for a ballad but works well with all the previous "s" sounds in the line (consonance-ically speaking...). That's one thing I really love about Jeff's lyrics: his attentiveness to sounds. They're musical, even without the music. They have their own ebb and flow. When I first heard "You and I," I was bugged that they didn't sing "misconstrued" together perfectly until I decided it was on purpose. Now I really like it.

Thank god their fan site is free! Yet... ...and... Come on. This seems like an interesting conversation, but it's about the mastering of the official releases, the ones you haven't heard. Save your impassioned commentary until you've actually heard them. If the music isn't worth your money, thinking of it as paying to really be able to bitch in this thread.

Buying show posters has certainly become an expensive habit, but it's nice knowing that often a local artist and/or company (or VC member) makes the show-specific poster. Also, at least in the past, Wilco has sometimes donated the proceeds of poster sales (or merch sales in general) to local causes. There used to be a place on WilcoWorld where you could see where proceeds went in various tour-stop cities. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but most indulgences are. Yet he "remains youthful with a remarkable tan and white spikes atop his serious stare."

Is this related to the show? Because I can't make the show, but if you're talking random acts of chest painting or whatnot, it's something to consider.

We have some of those albums preordered through Amazon, and the latest release date we received from them was in August. I just got back from vacation yesterday and received both the 7" YNK and W(ta) LP today when I picked up our mail. I'm waiting until the wee-tots are in bed before I sit back with a glass of wine and listen to W(ta), but the 7" sounded great. I also need to download my iTunes purchase of the album--that includes Dark Neon, right? At least I think that's why I bought the album from iTunes as well as on vinyl.

Five new songs--nice! Also, You Are My Face --> One Wing: I hope I get to hear that progression. The more seated/theatre shows I attend, the more I appreciate GA venues. I know they can't play them all the time and sometimes there is a sacrifice of sound quality in some of the GA venues/barns, but the trade-off in vibe is well worth it in my opinion.

You know, I think "Bohemian Rhapsody" is about Pulp Fiction, too! "Mama,just killed a man, Put a gun against his head, Pulled my trigger,now he's dead" (Vinnie, shooting Marvin in the car...in the head!)

I'll Fight is also one of my favorites on the album. I don't understand Jim DeRogatis's reference to it as an "annoying sing-song toss-off." I especially like And you'll sing to yourself The rising, falling melody That you could never read Without the choir's lead

I can't even remember why I felt "goal" made such perfect sense originally. "Gold" seems logical now, although I hear "...was a place..." (See that dead horse? I'm the one next to it, with the stick.)

This is great news. I've already pre-ordered the vinyl + CD from Kung Fu, but I won't pass this up.

The album will be released on June 30, and we know tour dates through August. It's not as though this is the W(ta) tour in its entirety.

Anyone know if there is a place to pre-order? Or is it in-store only?

As people start to hear/see the songs live, I'd be interested in hearing new "revelations."
