  1. Dick Clark: How many instruments do you play? Prince: [whisper] Thousands. [/whisper]
  2. http://forums.viachicago.org/topic/41001-concert-etiquette/
  3. I was beating up babies, babies I mean. They don't look like babies, but they're babies to me...
  4. Wow, another amazing setlist. It's nice seeing ...In Love on there. And "I ate grapes"
  5. Wow. That's an incredible setlist! One Wing, I'll Fight, Sonny, Simple, Misunderstood, Letters ... and Wheel as a closer? I'm envious, P. Sounds like a great trip so far. Thanks for the report on Blitzen Trapper, too. I'm enjoying all of Furr lately and hope to be able to check them out live soon.
  6. I've been listening to Summerteeth a lot lately and was just thinking how much I'd like to hear "Nothingsever..." again. Nice setlist. And glad to hear Jeff received proper birthday attention/goodies.
  7. I also love Sky Blue Sky and wish I could hear "Either Way" live more often. Sorry it took such a sucky day at work to remind you of your love for it.
  8. The download from Dime just finished--3.5 hours later.
  9. That's awesome, thanks. I'm in the processing of grabbing it from Dime, but the download has gone from 12m remaining to 7h12m remaining.
  10. Thanks for the link. I used babelfish to translate the paragraph, and I think the reviewer was just being "clever" with his use of the title in his review.
  11. Not much of a "last weekend"!
  12. Nah, not really. Although it is annoyingly cool here today.
  13. Where did you read/hear/see that they did?
  14. The reality is that, for you, Jeff will never say enough to appropriately honor Jay. At least if you stop pretending the words haven't been said and acknowledge that you simply don't believe them, we could save a few posts per thread.
  15. I didn't realize they'd play so many songs. Nice!
  16. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, and this may make me a complete fool, but I would take a GA show nearly anywhere (yes, even Eagles Ballroom) over a seated venue. I like that they're trying to book GA venues as often as possible. I think the Xcel/curtained off solution is more intriguing than going back to the seated Northrup.
  17. I think you should read it like this: [sarcasm] what an asshole [/sarcasm]
  18. Thanks for the report and great pics. Looks like a pretty short set list, even for a festival, but it's nice to see three from W(ta). Did you happen to catch Bon Iver's set while you were there?
  19. My husband is 6'4, and I think anyone who's ever attended a show with him will attest to the fact that he doesn't fit either of the descriptors above. You're painting with broad strokes. This is exactly what happens, which is why he and I often end up 4 or 5 rows apart from one another at a show, even though he spends just as much (or more) time in line as anyone on the rail. He's a peace-loving guy who wants to be polite and kind, but I think it's ridiculous (no, I'm Ridikulous...) to suggest he shouldn't stay up front. Actually, it's not just ridiculous. It's bullshit.
  20. Since the W(ta) photo shoots, it's possible fans have spent more time in the Nudies than some of the band members. I've yet to see the Nudies live, but I will continue to wait patiently.
  21. I'd like to hear that. (Actually, it would have been an appropriate song for me to hear last night. Oy.) Glad to hear you were able to pull off the double-header, as well! Impressive.
