  1. At My Window, Pieholden, How To Fight Loneliness, ELT... Looks like a great setlist! What roles did John and Pat play for At My Window?
  2. I would love to hear What's the World again--it's been years. Did it make you want scotch on ice?
  3. Oh, those hurt. We'll be in Boulder exactly two weeks later. Edit: This will hurt more if WI dates are announced for when I'm in Boulder. *tempts fate*
  4. That's his smoldering look.
  5. Sounds like a great time! What else did she play from the album? Thanks for the report!
  6. Yeah, that must have been awful for him to sit through while he waited for Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews.
  7. Also, after hearing Jeff play "You're Not Alone" solo at the Vic in March and then hearing the Mavis album, I couldn't decide which version I preferred. Tonight made it clear that there's no choosing; each is wonderful in its own way. "Open up, this is a raid," both musically and lyrically, is brilliant.
  8. Can't wait for our next show together, Poets! And let's hope that afterwards we don't have to walk the county to find a place to drink beer and play pool!
  9. An incredibly short set at Farm Aid tonight. It sounded great, but it was much, much too short. I'm ready for a proper solo tour. Sunken Treasure Remember The Mountain Bed I'll Fight You're Not Alone I'm The Man Who Loves You
  10. Looks like a great show! Simple, Too Far Apart, Kingpin, KTV? I wish I could have been there, too, but I guess reading essays is also a pretty nice consolation prize. Or, wait.... nope. It isn't. I hope the wait for live Wilco in the States isn't too long!
  11. Yeah! It certainly was the most likely place for it to show up, and it sounds like it showed up while the winds really were less angry. That sucks about the camera issue. So after having it confiscated and then returned, the guy resumed taking photos/video? So he thought having the camera returned was...permission to resume taking photos? Well, hopefully Prague will bring it for the final show of the tour. I can't remember: are you going to be in Milwaukee on Saturday?
  12. Ack, bummer about the obstructed view. But nice request on Ryan's part! I love Either Way, full band or solo.
  13. There may have been some projecting happening with that question. I'm sure she sang something, though. I just don't remember the details. Oh, that's disappointing. Glad you made the best of it, though. Speaking of Jeff whipping out guitars, R came across a Belfast picture that he swears (*adjusts his glasses*) is Jeff playing Nels' JM. I don't know--I don't think there's a complete set list from Belfast muchless note of that kind of detail, but it does look like the JM in the photo. And how about the rainbow SG? Any appearances?
  14. Bahahahahaaa!! Did you have 23oz. WTF races with the Poets? Did HPoet start belting out REM tunes at the bar? I love that acoustic Spiders is showing up in the setlists. I can't wait to see the band in-- oh, wait. There are no dates on the horizon. Thankfully I have your reports for the next few days. Don't screw it up!
  15. I'm not even at these shows, and I miss Sonny Feeling in the lineup. I hope it's only experiencing a temporary hiatus. Maybe they'll throw it in for the Berlin show?
  16. For some reason I had a feeling his reappearance was imminent. I could feel it. Sounds like a great night!
  17. Were the chimes in full use for EE? Love the rolling wave snares in that one, too. Have a great time on your Germany run with the Poets!
  18. Ha! I had forgotten about the rave version! Yep. A reappearance is in order.
  19. That was nicely said, P. And thanks for letting so many of us live vicariously through you for so long. Which was your "request"? Every time I see "I'm A Wheel" as the closer (or near closer as it turned out in this case), I am quickly and briefly transported to the final minutes of some of my favorite GA Wilco shows. I just love seeing it at the end of a set list!
  20. I've heard the new Plant is outstanding. I'll have to check it out.
  21. I bought it, and I love it. The stand-outs for me are Creep Along Moses, Only The Lord Knows, Wonderful Savior, and You're Not Alone, but I think the entire album is excellent. Seeing Mavis live at Solid Sound is a huge part of why I'm enjoying it so much--her set there was powerful. As for not coming on here to express opinions on the album, sometimes I just want to enjoy something that I know I like. I know others are interested in critiquing the mixing or the production or whatnot, but I'm not. I'm just happily enjoying the music on my own.
  22. Shouldn't Be Ashamed is always such a treat.
  23. In the song You Never Know: It's a long heavy hell Synthesizer Patel I don't care anymore I don't care anymore As for why that's the lyric, you never know. (Sorry. That was awful.)
