couldn't say for sure how many tracks they use on their own tapes for archiving purposes, but i'd guess it might be more than your average stereo 2 channel mix. even when they're not selling their shows of their tours, Pearl Jam records to a 24 track (and maybe even more now) and has for about 5+ years now, and as technically savvy and audio nerds as Wilco and their crew are, i'm guessing they have a pretty decent setup too.

the sad thing is... something different should have been done for these 5 shows. the band should have known the demand would be higher than if they were just 5 regular Wilco shows. by announcing ahead of time their intentions to "dust off the shelves" they created demand for people wanting to come in from all around the world for these 5 shows. they should have limited tickets to 2 for one thing, and if they really wanted to be sticklers, go the will call route (which sucks for people coming in from out of town I realize, but still).

fwiw, the band records EVERY SINGLE show on audio and has for quite some time now

while Mellencamp has pretty much blew since The Lonesome Jubilee (ok, he's had a few great songs (no more than 10 though) since), he's definitely legit and belongs there.

my first listen to this right now... jesus h the first 3 tracks are annoying as hell, especially "Go Go Gadget Flow" edit: track 4 too... you're so right about the choruses so far...

i think it's disabled... it never used to be enabled, but if some people have them it's possible it was enabled for some period of time.
