while i agree... he did a lot better than i expected. when he first stepped on the stage i got angry, but that last note he hit was pretty impressive for him.

sure it's a harsh way to put it, but it's true... imo their albums in terms of quality: At Dawn >>>>>> It Still Moves >> Z >>>>>>>>>>>>> Evil Urges not to say i don't still love Z, but i've enjoyed every album since At Dawn less than the one before it, so by that definition, yes, they have been going downhill from their peak (At Dawn so far). not saying i dislike the band at all, but they've got their work cut out for them on the next record to win me back a bit, at least studio album wise, live they're still tops.

Devils & Dust was pretty damn dull i thought. few great songs though.

you don't know that many hardcore Pearl Jam fans then it's a pretty widespread belief actually... not saying the majority of PJ fans would pick it as their favorites, but it has a huge contigent of fans.

yeah... these songs could be pretty amazing w/ a full band treatment awesome. that new WEW is brilliant imo.

yeah... some of the tracks w/ the drum machine don't really do it for me for some reason, idk. it's grown on me quite a bit since i first heard it tho i think it probably doesn't help matters that this comes after The Keys best album to date either . but for a solo debut it's pretty impressive.

have you seen them live? there's a lot of similarities in their harmonies, but it's especially evident live. there's one part (forgetting which song ATM, maybe Mykonos), that the harmony/melody is straight out of Ohio. and numerous times throughout their show the first time i saw them (caught them 5x last year, all fantastic), i couldn't stop thinking of the last time i saw CSNY in '06, and it wasn't just because they sing in 4 part and have beards . as for the "hype"... they weren't really hyped too much when i got into them a little over a year ago. so I guess had i not heard them u

Ragged Wood is their heaviest song, which is why i suggested it, but yeah, WWH would or Sun It Rises would both be perfect to show off their 4 part harmonies. when they switch gears in Sun It Rises live... damn that kills me. Your Protector would be great too

awesome. i can't justify the super deluxe... i figured if my wife was interested (she's still a much MUCH bigger fan than I am these days) we could split the cost, but she wasn't. i figured other than the vinyls, all of the other fake replica memorabilia would just get looked at once and thrown in a box to rot. one good thing about buying a house i guess i'll prolly just snag the deluxe cd/dvd one

Blue Ridge would have been a top 5 choice too, so that's great i'd love Oliver James, but not exactly the easiest to pull off on live TV.

yup. hell, i'm shocked i like this new album as much as i do... and i basically loathed the band before this (still find them pretty annoying live)

1. No Code / Vs. / Vitalogy / Yield 2. Ten 3. Pearl Jam 4. Binaural 5. Riot Act depending on the day... any one of those first 4 is my favorite... if i truly had to pick i'd probaby say Vs. for the rocking stuff and No Code for their best all around/well rounded album. But Yield is just top notch all the way through pretty much too. Vitalogy suffers a bit from the weird songs breaking up the flow, but it's their best sounding album bar none.

then you prolly won't dig it too much. that said, sonically, this is BAR NONE the best thing any body in that band has ever released. i liked Person Pitch, but didn't dig the trebly under water production. they actually discovered LOW END this time

ditto. sadly whenever Cameron has tried to play it, it comes off sounding like 'Hot For Teacher' the slowed down/re-worked version from like '03 or whenever was just HORRENDOUS too. FAIL
