I just added it to my collection. Great addition. Thanks Tinnitus! -

Favorite Christmas Albums?
Winston Legthigh replied to Winston Legthigh's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Anyone get any recently made Christmas albums they can recommend? I picked up Joel Paterson's "Hi Fi Christmas Guitar" and am enjoying it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/music/reich/ct-ent-joel-paterson-review-1204-story.html Edit: I don't know why I originally put this in the non-music forum. Could an admin out there do me kindly, and put this in the music forum? -
It might be mine. I could easily recognize it. Did it have Benjamin Franklin on it?

was the Death Star attack an inside job?

How bad is stormtrooper aim, exactly? -
was the Death Star attack an inside job?

Because it wasn't a lightly armored TIE fighter. It was a TIE Advanced x1, specifically built to Vader's specifications. Because his ship was damaged after another pilot collided with him. He left the scene after the Death Star was destroyed, not before. -
If he's an exemplary employee, and this is the first time this has happened, there's no chance he would be fired. Virtually all HR best practices models call for a chance to rehabilitate before termination. On the other hand, if he's already received a warning over such behavior, or if he's a guy they're just waiting for an excuse to fire, then that's another story.

There's no equivalence between what Magnetized said and what you wrote that he "actually" said. Magnetized simply claimed that Franken shouldn't immediately resign, right now. There's nothing that he said that says what Franken did is OK. That's not rationalizing the behavior. Some people disagree with you. You think Franken's political career should end, immediately. Some people don't think that he should step down, including Leeann Tweeden. It's possible to think that what he did is not OK, and also think that he shouldn't end his political career over it.

I was waiting in line at my local meat market when a friend texted me the news. By the time I looked up the news online, Highway to Hell started coming over the joint’s speakers. RIP.

The Offs. Fuck, Sod, Piss, and their oddball brother who is into sports: Kick. -
The ethics committee could uncover more examples of this behavior, and get more victims to come forward. If the forced kiss is true, it is not OK.

Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJDNenxzQBU Yeah, Mayer's tone doesn't really fit in. It sounds like someone playing over something that was recorded somewhere else.

I'm not sure how I feel about having Franken fall on his sword at this point. He openly asked for an ethics committee to look into the matter. If he's got other skeletons in his closet, it might be the best move to resign now, but I do have to say, knowing that blaming the victim is not something to go into, but in this case, she's a birther who makes appearances on the Hannity show. I feel like we're in the era now where every sin from the past will now be picked over with a fine toothed comb, and enemies will support victims to come forward, as if they're weapons and not human beings.

Dang. I really want to see JRAD. I came THIS CLOSE to pulling the trigger on a pair of Stub Hub tickets just now, but just couldn't spend $130 on 2 tickets. I think the thing that got me was that the price of the ticket on Stubhub was $48 per ticket, but then had an additional $30 for "convenience fees." Fuck it.

I spotted a few tix on stubhub in the low $50s. Not a huge markup, but... fuck scalpers.

Looking forward to starting it. We're grinding out the last few episodes of Stranger Things now before we start something new.

Fuck. I missed out on nabbing JRAD tickets in Chicago on Feb 17. It's sold out now. I hesitated when I considered we have a new boy due at the beginning of Feb, and that weekend would be deemed "Valentine's" date weekend, and that my 2nd boy turns three on the 19th (and a smaller consideration was given to the venue, the Riviera, which has really shitty acoustics). But no, yeah, Papa wants to go get stoned and see a show downtown. See ya! Have fun with the newborn on Valentine's weekend, and hope I'm not too hungover for Georgie's birthday!

I was watching bits of the show from MSG two nights ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17LAkWdX57s&t=3002s It's OK, but, as has been said before, every song is just a bit slow. I stopped listening after Bertha. Maybe being there with a loud and receptive audience would make it better, but I can't imagine paying the $150 GA ticket (I'm guessing upwards of $190 after fees). That's some serious coin. Not sure what the cheapest seats cost, but not sure I want to be in the nosebleeds either.

Makes sense. I mean, obviously, he's the singular difference. Who'd a thunk it. Who could have guessed a few years ago that the Dead would again be a top touring act by just adding John Mayer? I can't imagine seeing that being pitched a few years ago.

Anyone have a theory about why this current iteration of the GD has been so much more successful in terms of touring revenue than previous ones (such as The Other Ones, Furthur, or The Dead)?
