I'll check it out. In the meanwhile, that title-holder for me is Gaspar Noe's "I Stand Alone." Apologies for the hijack. Back to politics. The SEC got hacked, and believe that the info was used to make illegal trades. In the meanwhile, they've been dinging firms for not having adequate cybersecurity policies and procedures. Who fines the SEC when they screw up?

Wow. Raging Bull, like Calvino says, is unsettling. I think Spielberg said something about it like "it seems like a documentary - it's as if you're eavesdropping on conversations you're not meant to hear..." I think the first time I saw it, Cheers was still in its heyday, and it was insane to me to see "Coach" as a mob-heavy. Taxi Driver is just nasty. I can't imagine a film like that getting the green light nowadays.

How far along are you? We lost interest somewhere in season 2. Started strong though. Vicious stuff.

The Chains. Man, if there's one stupid thing I hate in the NFL, it's those stupid chains. Last night, late in the game, the Giants tried to keep a drive alive and went for it on 4th down. After a short pass, the receiver was stopped short of the first down, but got a very friendly spot, and they brought out the chains to see if the ball made it past the first down marker. Yes, it did, just by the tip of the ball. Lions protested and reviewed the ball spot. After the review, the ref came out to say that the ball should have been spotted about a 1/2 yard short of where it ended up. So,

I always enjoy a Sunday funday. Made a big muffaletta sandwich for my guests, then also grilled some wings. The Lions pleasantly surprised me.

I've been listening to Dick's Pick #3 during my commutes lately. Fantastic show, it's a shame that the release doesn't have the full show. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick%27s_Picks_Volume_3 There's a section during Eyes of the World that the sound quality almost makes me sea-sick though. It sounds like the recording was put through a phaser, and also the sound is going quickly Left Right Left Right - for about 20 seconds, right in the middle of the jam. Anyone else ever notice this? I don't know if it's perceptible without headphones on. It seriously made me dizzy.

It sounds like a U2 computer was programmed to write a U2-sounding song. I'm incredulous that anyone in the band went through the effort of putting that song out and was excited about the creative process the whole time, like "Nailed it!!"

Disgusting new ticketmaster trend!

And now there's Taylor Swift doing this: http://jezebel.com/taylor-swifts-ticketmaster-program-is-a-complex-new-way-1798424061 -
Wish I would have done that, but was thinking it was going to be a complete clusterfuck. Did you just daytrip?

Huh, I really liked the Franken parts, and thought his commentary really got to the heart of being a fan. The part about how someone else's favorite Althea just didn't do it for him like HIS Althea did.

But everyone (in the music biz at least) knows that the real money (at least, the real money that goes into a band's pockets) is made in touring, right? Artists don't make shit from album sales. I think they get like a 3% cut or something like that. If his assertion about some bands viewing concerts as a commercial for album sales is correct, then those bands have things totally backwards.

I read that Kelly considered resigning when he found out that Comey had been canned.
-
There's a theory going around that says Trump was irked that Scaramucci came in too hot and was becoming too big of a "star" of the White House. Who knows, but I could buy it.
-
Apparently got sacked / was permitted to resign by new guy in charge: John Kelly.

Scaramucci. He gone.
