  3. I recommend starting with these two albums: Europe 72, and Live/Dead. If you enjoy those two and want to dig further, I think you'll find they lay an excellent foundation.
  4. Huh. The last three shows from the Europe 72 tour - that I could not find to purchase on itunes, are there now. Sweet. Significantly less expensive than on dead.net Watched this last night: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TydfRUh7Ba4 Jerry guesting with Los Lobos in 89. 4 songs: Buzz Buzz Buzz, Tore Down, Born on the Bayou, Suzie Q. Not much for Garcia to do on Buzz Buzz Buzz, but they open it up for him on Tore Down. Video is lousy, but the audio isn't bad.
  5. Hey, just wanted to say thanks to worldrecordplayer and winterland121072 for chatting up the 73 Winterland box set in the last thread. I found a copy on Amazon for not too much above the original price. It's great. My Apple had a tough time reading the HDCDs, but I was able to import the whole set.
  6. He's coming out of the gates wayyyyy too fast. I need him to slow it up a little bit because I want him to still be around when the debates come up.
  7. New list thread? Favorite offensively-named bands? Rammstein? Dead Kennedys? Jodie Fosters Army?
  8. The U2 show last night (3rd night Chicago) was great. Here's the setlist. They played Gloria for the first time in a long time, and there was a rumor that Two Hearts Beat As One was played at the soundcheck, but it didn't make it into the setlist. I don't think they've played that one since the 80s? Bono's voice sounded great. He cracked a couple times reaching the strong high notes during Every Breaking Wave, then opted not to reach for those notes after... Adam started the show in a glorious white leather motorcycle jacket, and he's currently my #1 ranked white coiffed old rocker du
  9. I think that cable providers only have access to broadcast the Chicago shows. The CA shows are Internet-only.
  10. Strange that the webcast is being handled by MLB. I guess that everyone is interested in a piece of the action... http://mlb.mlb.com/concert/dead50/ $110 for all 5 shows? Wow. There's a lot of cash that's going to exchange hands over this farewell.

  12. I can understand that an artist doesn't want to be seen as backing a candidate, even if the candidate validly paid for the rights to do so. I don't think Neil is a hypocrite for seeking to do business with Trump, while also telling Trump not to use his music.
  13. Neil loses points for even wanting to do business with Trump. Gross. Guess he doesn't care where his seed money comes from.
  14. and THIS Can I still get a car horn that plays Dixie? If not, La Cucuracha will have to suffice...
  15. Hang in there. I was unemployed for about 9 months recently. Just keep at it, stay professional and positive, and you'll land something.
  16. Isis used to be one of my favorite shows when I was a kid.
  17. For those of you in Chicago over the 4th, who don't have a ticket to the Soldier Field shows, Terrapin Flyer is playing at Martyrs. http://www.martyrslive.com/calendar#2015-07
