  1. Going to the Mann in Philly tonight w/ my son- haven't seen REM since Radiohead opened for them in ????99??? My seats are L/C balcony row E...anyone with any knowledge of whether they're decent or not?? The seating charts don't tell me much... Thanks!
  2. Pie in the Sky - Alan Parsons Project Live and Let Pie - Wings Pie Like an Eagle- Steve Miller Band Would I Pie to You? - Eurythmics
  3. Good stuff, I'll start working up my list. This used to be a good 3 AM weekend verbal sparring exercise w/ friends... btw does anyone remember the official title of the Osmonds third album (not the live one, or the canadian only release)?
  4. OK OK so I've been living under a rock.... UNCLE!!!!
  5. It's awesome- i'm always curious about other oartists nterpretations of dylan tunes. although many are pretty much straight performances, the different artists representing the music is pretty wide ranging- I find/ hear new stuff every time I play it. Get it. Play it. Repeat! Oh yeah- I saw aDylan benefit in NYC in 2006- the Roots did a most incredible version of Masters of War - stole the show....not on soundtrack...
  6. OK, being fairly new to the site (but not the band) I apologize in advance if this is a retread thread, but the Last Waltz got me thinking..... best:The Last Waltz - beautifully shot and edited, most likely my #1 for best.... I'm also a big fan of Rock 'n' Roll High School, too.... worst... hmmm "Tommy" was bad, but actually has some pretty cool scenes (Tina Turner as the Acid Queen comes to mind...), and of course Sgt. Peppers was truly horrendous on every level, even if Aerosmith's "Come Together" is a guilty pleasure....
  7. Just saw it- Van the Man in a rare US appearance: 7/10 and 7/11 at the lovely Tower Theater in beautiful Upper Darby, PA. Only time I saw him was the NoGuru tour at Meriweather about, ohhh, 20 years ago. SCHWEET.
  8. I can't put this one down.
  9. SweetSweetSweet Best of luck to you and the future missus remphish1. I guess that would make you guys remphish1 (squared) ?????? and future remphish2, remphish3, etc.... What's the wedding song, my friend?????
  10. Hmmmmm, I don't really see you in coffee... no.., definitely, yeah I'm certain that I See You in Tea.
  11. possible explanations: 1. your girlfriend dumped you for WXPN 2. WXPN fired you for not making the floors shiny enough. 3. Your car has only AM radio and no air conditioning. 4. All of the above!
  12. I would venture a guess that the "surprise show" is being confused with the ticket line campout at the venue for the August show. Just another in a long long list of reasons to continue the international Pier 1 boycott. Not to mention satellite radio. On another note, XPN is by far the best and only radio station worth listening to- at least in the PA area!
  13. Barry Manilow- Do you really think that YOUR songs make the whole world sing? Jakob Dylan, Nacy Sinatra, Frank Stallone and to a lesser well known extent, Richie Springsteen = nepotism Kevin Bacon, Eddie Murphy, Billy Bob Thornton, and Matrix-Boy: Do not confuse "actor" with "musician" Anthony, Flea, Henry Rollins, Dwight Yoakam, Jon Bon, Robbie Robertson, Elvis, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, etc....: Do not confuse "musician" with "actor" Charles Schultz: Everything but the way the adults talked was not really that humorous. Conor Oberst: Fer chrissake, tone done the self-im
  14. Sex Bomb - Flipper: Shes a sex bomb my baby - yeah
  15. damn...tough choices...I'd have to go with a theree way tie : Blonde on Blonde Blood on the Tracks Highway 61 though if I could only take one with me to the desert island it just might be... THE BASEMENT TAPES
  16. I'm not sure what he's talking about..maybe because me, Otter, Flounder and Bluto just got back from the Minnesota show (we took Flounders brothers car).
  17. oh well then let me be the first- need two for Delaware!
  18. Ha! Thanks for putting it in perspective!
  19. no luck whatsoever from 10 - 10:30.. my presale streak stays alive!!!
  20. The first album I ever bought was Sgt. Peppers. The Soundtrack. You know, the one from the movie featuring the BeeGees, Peter Frampton, and umm, George Burns covering "Fixing a Hole." There, I said it.
