  1. Like I said, I would have skipped buying it on vinyl had I realized that 90 minutes of content wouldn't have been available to me with this purchase. I clearly didn't read carefully enough. That's my mistake. Regardless, anyone who purchased this, vinyl, CD, whatever should be able to agree that not including 30% of the content give or take is screwy. As for how much I listen to vinyl, I assume that was the case for most people. Maybe I'm wrong, but I assume between commutes, 8 hours in the office, etc. that most people consume music on the go and that records were for those instances when y
  2. It's one thing to not include a digital copy of the album (although they should) but, in the case of Being There, I am being denied a 20 track live concert that CD and digital purchasers receive. Vinyl purchasers are actually being denied content despite paying more than double for the product. Truth be told, I probably would have skipped the vinyl version this time around if I had realized when preordering that the Troubadour set would not be included. I mentioned this when Together At Last was released. For a band that is one of the biggest supporters of the vinyl industry, not including d

    A.M. Deluxe?

But they are ignoring the people paying double for the vinyl. It's kind of crazy that there are no downloads available with the vinyl purchase. Which is part of why the price point of these vinyl sets are a little steep in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I preordered them. But to charge $80 for Being There and then not include the Troubadour set is a bit much. The vinyl for AMF did not include the live tracks but did include a download for them (in addition to the other material that was included on the vinyl). That makes complete sense. I bought the OKNOTOK blue vinyl version at my local re
  4. I don't know when this ad came out, but I'm guessing it was around the time that I got my blue iMac in '01. iTunes was very new at the time and it came preloaded with a bunch of songs preloaded including A Shot In The Arm and Monday. I'm guessing the rest of the music was made of people in this ad but I don't know for sure.
  5. Then maybe Tulsa is the anomaly. GA Pit is $45 and Reserved is $39. Either way...glad both theaters removed seats on the floor for these shows.
  6. Not sure why ticket prices vary so much from place to place. I bought two pit tickets in Tulsa which were $45 each and two pit tickets in KC which were $39 each. Surprisingly the pit tix in KC were cheaper than the reserved seats in the balcony. Not sure why.
  7. That's bush-league. I don't know if the downloads from Kung Fu and Anti were used as a marketing tool to preorder or what. For a guy who wants people to support local record stores, not including download cards make it more difficult. Not the end of the world...just frustrating.
  8. So I just picked up a yellow copy at my local record shop. There was not a download card or anything inside. I assume that I can download a version of the album. That's pretty standard with all new releases. Anyone had the same issue?
  9. BT is now in the lead 27%-26%. While it has no chance of winning, I would be curious if TWL won if we would finally see a live performance of Sunloathe. Would the band perform or would it just be JT solo? I thought I read somewhere that the arrangement was too tough to pull off live.
  10. I received my black vinyl from Kung Fu to replace my orange version. The black sounds far better than the orange. There is absolutely no surface noise. I hope they repressing of the orange vinyl is improved. That being said, I have no regrets changing to the black version.
  11. Agreed. Although, many people here say their orange copy is fine. Here is the entire email from Kung fu. (I never heard from the gmail address that Wilco posted on their Facebook page). We apologize for any issues with the Schmilco Limited Edition Orange vinyl pressing. The defect is not unique to your copy, but a fault with part of the vinyl pressing. We are happy to replace your orange copy with either a newly pressed orange copy or the heavier and better sounding 180 gram black vinyl. It's a better listening experience because black vinyl sounds better than color and the heavier vin
  12. So after not hearing back from the schmilcovinyl@gmail.com address that Wilco put on their Facebook page, I reached out to Kung Fu regarding my defective orange vinyl. I received a blanket letter stating that I can either receive another orange or the 180g black. Two things I thought were interesting.... 1. They either didn't sell all 3000 or they are having more pressed. 2. In order to receive another copy of the orange vinyl, I have to provide proof that I destroyed the original. Since I chose the black I can keep the orange as is. I did enjoy the humor in which they asked me to destroy
  13. My orange vinyl is definitely off center on side B. The needle is moving back and forth at least an 1/8th of an inch! Just reached out to schmilcovinyl@gmail.com as Wilco instructed people to do on their FB page.
  14. I'm assuming the light pink is the Rough Trade pink/white mix that was limited to 750 copies. I tried the shocking gum and then got my wife and 12 year old son with it. It packs a lot more punch than I expected!
  15. Glad to hear it went well for others. I just went to Starship Records + Tapes here in Tulsa and two guys behind the counter started griping, saying that it was another employee's deal to host the party. Five to ten minutes later they play the album. A couple of people bought it (I'm waiting on my preorder copy but was going to buy a couple of other items). I saw them each get a sticker. No test pressings, no slip mats, etc. All the while, said employees were bitching about the employee that didn't show up for this. After hearing "Call him and tell him if his ass can't be here on time then stay
  16. For those questioning availability, I placed my order at 11:38 central time and will be receiving the orange vinyl and the gum.
  17. Same for me as well. I haven't priced it in my local record store but Being There is only $20 on wilcoworld.
  18. Did Sunloathe ever get played? It makes me laugh to think they have toured for almost 4 years with that album under their belts and never played the damn thing yet nailed every song in one night with the new album.
  19. Just gave it my first full listen. Lots of fuzziness going on. It sounds great. Pickled Ginger is my frontrunner so far...which sounds a bit like Spoon. I was caught off guard when the 12th track started until I realized it was the first track of Eazy-Duz-It which, strangely, was the next album in queue in iTunes.
  20. This doesn't really count as "heard while you're out and about", but my '09 OKC Wilco poster is featured prominently in the first minute of this week's episode of The Reluctant Outdoorsman on Outdoor Channel. My '11 Cain's Ballroom poster is in the reverse shot but is unrecognizable. Figured there weren't many (if any) OC viewers here on the boards so I thought I would mention it. Here's a link to the beginning of the episode. It premiers on Thursday. http://outdoorchannel.com/showvideos.aspx?show-id=24891&pid=QZLT9F1Rl9F2
  21. Woodgrain - I'm a sucker for the fact that Jeff doesn't rhyme the "sometimes I rhyme / sometimes I don't" line. Less Than You Think Country Disappeared - Just watched the Take Away show again today and would love to see this one live. Saw them 3 times on (the album) tour and never heard it.
  22. Can anyone shed some light on the venue in KC? The presale has a VIP section for $93, a bleacher general admission and a regular general admission. Does anyone know the difference between these options?
  23. I know here in Tulsa alone are Vampire Weekend, Local Natives, Toro Y Moi, Silversun Pickups and Walk the Moon during the off week between ACL weekends. Hopefully Dallas or OKC Wilco dates will pop up soon. I wouldn't mind Denton either. I took my then 7 year old son a couple of years ago when they played a lecture hall on campus. Weird scene for a show but it worked.....
