  1. This week's AV Undercover is a cover of Joe DiMaggio Done It Again. I've never heard of this group but it's a pretty cool rendition.... http://www.avclub.com/articles/houndmouth-covers-billy-bragg-wilco,97071/
  2. yep. Cain's show in September of '05 they played both Walken and The Late Greats over a year and a half before SBS came out......
  3. I bought the Red Rocks album. I agree with Shug that the band sounds great. If I had any complaints, it is that the crowd is so faint. I know this is probably a characteristic of soundboard recordings, but I wish the crowd was a bit louder. For example, I love how loud the crowd gets when they yell "HATE IT" on the chorus of Hate It Here. On this "official bootleg", that energy from the crowd is absent. Still, I hope they do this for future shows so I can at least document the ones I attend.....
  4. I guess I saw things a little differently. This was the first non-GA show where I was up close. After reading numerous threads here, I was curious how the whole stand up / sit down thing was going to be handled. The second the band hit the stage, everyone was on their feet for the entire night with the exception of a handful of people (my wife included on a couple of songs). Her excuse was the gravel we were standing on. Yep...gravel. I agree the venue was...different. I was in the 3rd row and most of the people I saw in the front two rows had some sort of sticker on that I assume me
  5. yeah, 3rd row orchestra right for us. As far as matching performances, my show to beat (of the 7 or 8 shows I've seen) is the 2008 Cain's Ballroom show. Unless I make it to a Chicago show, or if they do another "evening with" tour, I don't think I will ever see that show outdone. I think it was 29 songs and the show clocked in at 2.5 hours. The fact that they were shooting that for the Ashes doc, and coming off of the 5 night residency probably helped with the longer-than-usual show. As for Purling Hiss, I checked out a couple of songs on Spotify and was less than impressed. That being
  6. Finally...someone going to Fayetteville! I'm curious to see what the setup is. From what I've read, the stage is basically under a tent in a field. See you there!
  7. Just bought 3rd row center aisle to Fayetteville. Can't wait!
  8. Cox Cable here in Tulsa had it on some secondary PBS station. I DVR'd it. The guide must have been wrong because the first thing I saw was the middle of Bull Black Nova. The main PBSHD station was running the original Ocean's Eleven. Go figure. Here's hoping they repeat it.......
  9. I've only seen this happen once, but at the 2008 Cain's show in Tulsa, presale general admission tickets were allowed to enter the ballroom before the rest of the crowd.
  10. The video was definitely shot over at least two nights since John's jacket disappears and reappears between shots.....
  11. I've been meaning to buy the same poster. It was an awesome show. Anyways, here is a link to the artist's page with a "buy" button underneath the poster. Hope this works! www.garciadesign.ca/store_pages/store-gig-wilco-tulsa.html
  12. Another awesome show at Cain's. Like you said bbop, the band truly seemed to enjoy themselves. I took my wife to a show for the first time. I'm not sure I have a converter on my hands, but she did enjoy it and at least she now understands why I love seeing this band whenever I can. What I have never realized is how much of their stage production (for lack of a better word) they sacrifice by playing Cain's. After seeing them in Denton, I see that in Tulsa they lost the backdrop, a bunch of lights, etc.
  13. As somebody who is 5' 7", I am looking forward to my first seated Wilco show on Saturday night. Likewise, as somebody who is 5' 7", I am prepared to stare at the back of some guy's neck on Sunday night.....
  14. I think there is reason to be optimistic for new material. They did four tracks off of WTA in Oklahoma City in '09. Of course, that was only two weeks before the album comes out...not four months.
  15. I don't know about other venues but Cain's only holds 1500 which I would think is pretty small compared to other venues. I know the place in Bricktown in OKC feels a lot bigger than Cain's. The band could probably fill the Brady Theater in Tulsa pretty well, but I guess they have a fondness for Cain's......
  16. There are a bunch of pix of the band in studio now on wilcoworld.net. Pretty good stuff.....
  17. according to UNT's website, it is the Main Auditorium.....
  18. looks like Denton is already sold out....
  19. Had front row balcony tickets for Denton. This would have been perfect for me and my 7 year old son (his first Wilco show). When I filled everything out and hit purchase, I was logged out with no tickets. Grrrrrrr...
  20. In my experience, the seats were not always better through frontgate. It's not like the 10% of the seats that Wilco sells are the best 10% of the seats in the venue. As for GA shows, the only perk I have ever seen them do is frontgate purchasers at the '08 Cains show got to enter before the doors opened to the rest of the public. All other GA shows I have seen them at, there was no preferential treatment to Frontgate presale ticket purchasers.
  21. Kingsbury Manx opened at Cain's in the fall of '05. That was the first and last I ever heard of them.......
  22. This is very possible. I did a doc on the '85 Chicago Bears for ESPN a few years back. They spent $400,000 on it and I spent two months producing and editing it. It was to air on the Sunday between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl. It got pushed back because of X Games, and eventually aired at 1:16 A.M. Central Time. It never aired again. A lot of money and hard work on something that aired once in the middle of the night. And yet they rerun poker tournaments from 5 years ago.....go figure.
  23. I would love to see a Joan Jett/Cheap Trick double bill.....
  24. Debbie- I sent you an email regarding your tickets. If you haven't sold them yet, I would like to buy 'em! Thanks! -Derek
