Interest in Tweedy/McGuinn show in WV?
choo-choo-charlie replied to skywalker2754's topic in Just A Fan
I'd be interested, although it's about 5-6 hours for me from Columbia, MD. -
I second this. Or "Love Gun" with the whole ensemble. I was gonna start a "What if Wilco played a KISS cover?" thread but figured someone had done it a while ago...

I suppose that's true.

Yes - they have a full-length which builds on the EP. You can nab it from their site for $10. http://www.goldmotel.bigcartel.com/product/summer-house-autographed-cd-pre-order

And if you like that, go for these. "Perfect in My Mind." "Safe in L.A."

I'd just like to point out that I never called anyone a douche bag or an "UN-true wilco fan."

Ooooh that's a good one.

I love it when that happens. I grow tired of working my way through the robot-voiced labyrinth that so many companies employ now as their first line of defense.

I like the leadoff track, "Boyfriend," but haven't gotten into the album as a whole yet. When it comes to summery, reverb-y pop bands led by ladies, I've been digging Gold Motel.

I also subscribe through iTunes, and the new episode isn't popping up there. I'm pretty sure they can't be played directly from the website - only through a platform like iTunes or another subscription service...

There's a new "Solid Sound Edition" of the Wilco podcast up: http://wilcoworld.net/roadcase/podcast/

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just a friendly suggestion - some punctuation and line breaks would greatly serve your responses well. What kind of setlist were you hoping for?

yeah. neko's nearly untouchable.

Interesting that you hear Neko Case, 'cause I think she [bethany] could learn quite a bit from Neko on how to use reverb. But I don't think she's got the pipes or the dark-country vibe of Neko. To me, this is sunny pop music.

Yeah, it was the bigger seller. But IMHO, not the better album. There's some fierce guitar playing on there. "The Things I Used to Do" is just nasty.

I've been thining about making the trip from Maryland. Haven't seen or heard any updates on the actual event schedule since the acts were announced. It's rather annoying, actually; I'd be more apt to buy my tickets and plan the trip if the website offered any more information. As someone who promotes music and concerts for a living, it's mind-boggling how unorganized or clueless some presenters can be.

I think [or hope] this represents an exciting new chapter of music-making for Tweedy that trickles through into Wilco.
