  1. Leroy's great. For some reason, in IATTBYH, during the full take of "Kamera," I always end up focusing on Leroy playing electric guitar.
  2. It was a nice performance, although it was a bit of a comedown after the O'Jays.
  3. I enjoyed "Used to Be a Cop," but didn't quite grasp "Your Woman is a Living Thing" after a few plays...
  4. Just shy of nine minutes - a nice little chat with John. http://www.hereandnow.org/#7
  5. DCist reported the same: http://dcist.com/2010/10/those_itching_for_rally_guest_detai.php.
  6. I just picked this up: http://www.amazon.com/Here-There-Everywhere-Recording-Beatles/dp/1592402690/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1287436420&sr=1-1
  7. Now I've learned two things this week on this board about Wilco fans that I didn't know: they don't like blacks or foreigners.
  8. you can nab an mp3 from the album here: http://captainsdead.com/nels-clines-dont-threaten-me-with-your-threats.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+captainsdead+(captains+dead+feed)
  9. I've always thought the 'desert island picks' question was a bit silly. Are we to assume that said island has power to actually play the music we're taking with us? But, to answer the bum-bum question: Wilco - Being There The Beatles - White Album (or Abbey Road?) Led Zeppelin - IV
  10. I've heard other Roots albums that I enjoy more than The Tipping Point. I'm not sure why that's the one that comes out...maybe it's the nostalgia of events that took place during the time in which I first heard it. So I guess my choice fits. Speaking of hip-hop/rap groups with way better albums than the one I listen to...
  11. Let me just say I don't hate hip-hop; I own very few hip-hop records and rarely listen to them, so this would be "odd" for people who know me. But there was a period when this never left my car, or the kitchen at work, etc.
  12. To me, the term "experimental" gets thrown around way too loosely. The way I see it, each record is "experimental" in some regard. To go from A.M. to Being There certainly took some trial and error, testing and discovery of new ideas, sounds, etc. The same goes with the step from BT to Summerteeth. And so on. With each record they've tested/experimented with sound, arrangements, songwriting, etc., the end product of which has been met with mixed results each time.
  13. I enjoyed quite a bit of Relentless7. I thought it was good to hear Ben turning up the volume again after Lifeline. Both Sides of the Gun was a great record, in my humble opinion...it seemed to divide a lot of people.
  14. "Just a Kid" was on the Spongebob Squarepants soundtrack, and I believe it was the first studio track that the current lineup of Wilco actually recorded together. I've got this one closely nailed on the guitar, but I'm quite awful at writing music, so I'm not much help there...I play by ear.
  15. I didn't care for the first track that they were streaming...I'll have to check out more of it to make an informed decision. I enjoy most everything Ben Harper participates in.
