  1. I think My Morning Jacket falls into this category. Evil Urges just didn't do it for me at all.
  2. I do not think that was fabricated -- I remember reading that in the Wilco Book too.
  3. Charlie, may you rise and meet your savior in the air. Your soul will fly to safety and eternal peace and rest.
  4. I second this. There are also a couple of nice instrumental takes in the demos, and it's played during the IATTBYH film.
  5. It's uneven for sure, yet I'm drawn to its rough, raw sound. And there's some great guitar riffs (and guitar work in general) in there. Not even close to their best, but I think it's still a great record for a quick snippet of late-period Beatles. Qhich one's the shamefully atrocious ballad? ( )
  6. sending strong vibes and strong prayers your way...this is all too familiar for me.
  7. Ben Harper -- I Shall Not Walk Alone Patty Griffin -- Heavenly Day Patty Griffin -- Never Grow Old Patty Griffin -- We Shall All Be Reunited The Wailin' Jennys -- Glory Bound Wilco -- What Light And I second the recommendations of Springsteen's "Across the Border" and Sly's "Que Sera Sera" 1,000x over. 9. The new record is streaming for free this week on spinner.com.
  10. I too just hopped on the Lucero train after they popped up in my Jason Isbell radio station on Pandora -- wondered how I missed these guys. Great, great, great.
  11. They could always return to Crossroads again -- it's a great spot -- but they might be too big to play there now. The Uptown show in 2006 was solid, that'd sell out if they played there again. Maybe the folks over at the new Kaufman Center would get adventurous and book them there, like the folks at the Strathmore in Maryland (booking a rock band in a classical hall).
  12. My avatar speaks to my deep love for Paul's bass playing. Among countless others, I also think this represents some of his best work in the Beatles:
  13. Jeff Tweedy, 12/7/2010, Lincoln Theatre, Washington DC Wilco, 9/27/2010, Admiralpalast, Berlin http://wilcoworld.net/roadcase/index.php
  14. As a guitarist, that makes me drool a little bit.
  15. Perhaps they're just toys...in the attic?
  16. I haven't heard much about Lady Gaga these days...I'm sure she's plotting her next move.
  17. Perhaps my favorite line from that song.
  18. I enjoy this song and have found it to be comforting in the last few months of my life. My tears taste salty.
