  1. I've never understood this contradiction in traditional supply and demand economics. Cd sales are cut in half in less than a decade, but the price stays the same?
  2. iTunes lists Yankee Hotel Foxtrot as country music, so I guess that album has done more than we know.
  3. Alicia Keys is enough to keep me occupied. I'll let her bring her piano, too.
  4. Remember the Mountain Bed in B&N right now. (I am standing under a speaker so I can hear the whole thing.) They played Dylan a few minutes ago. Awesome!
  5. Sammy Sosa, now what? "I am not trying to look like Michael Jackson."
  6. Someone posted this pic on the Phillies' Facebook page:
  7. When did Glenn add that massive gong? That thing is awesome!
  8. Newark, Delaware is pronounced "new ark," which is different than Jersey's Newark, which is "newerk."
  9. When my computer quit last year I had almost 8000 songs on iTunes. I had only downloaded 3 (for a special occasion), so i would have been all kinds of pissed if I hadn't had the cds as backups. I like and buy cds. I do not have a record player and listen to music mostly in the car, so I'm sticking with cds. My personal economy has been tight the last five years, but my budget is about to free up a bit, so I'm going to get back to buying about a half-dozen cds per month. I have, however, decided to buy mostly used or discounted whenever possible. If there is an old release I'm confident I'll fi
  10. I learned of this incident here and it scared the shit out of me. I have a nephew and his family are stationed at Ft. Hood. I've checked and found them to be safe. I am thankful my family was spared another tragedy as I had another nephew (they were cousins) who was stationed at Ft. Hood but was killed in Afghanistan last year. It would have been unbearably difficult if something were to happen stateside. I am hopeful the situation is under control and safe.
  11. Damn! You went to the first show, didn't you? I knew I'd miss out on something when I couldn't get tickets. I did go the next night and Tweedy told us they were trying out a new song for the first time live. If I remember right it was Walken. They played four new songs that night and I recalled how fresh and upbeat the sound was and I was very excited about the impending new album.
  12. You are welcome. By the way, the earthquake never happened. So come visit St. Louis and the arch sometime. Don't worry about the New Madrid. It's been dormant for quite a long time!
  13. New Madrid is a seismic fault line that runs near St. Louis. The song mentions Prof. Browning. In 1989 he predicted a major earthquake in the St. Louis area. That's why the song mentions bringing his baby back - via the earthquake.
  14. I thought the same thing when I saw the thread's title.
  15. As a Phillies fan I'm optimistic that there's always last year.
  16. I'm not familiar with this song. How does it go? Hum a few bars, give us a listen.
  17. I tried to read Beloved and couldn't get into it. I thought the problem was me. I guess maybe not.
  18. This song is my philosophy on my day at work yesterday. I think I'm going to hum it all day tomorrow.
  19. Not to my knowledge, but usually when things happen to me I'm the last to know. P.S. With a few ultra-sensative posters here, there's always a need to apologize, regardless.
  20. Starts out as a psychological thriller, suddenly turns into a vampire story in which, in the end, the humans and the vampire go all Rodney King and learn to get along.
