Wow that sounds annoying. Plain old FM random song wake up. Not even sure what station or anything as it gets turned off immediately.

Albums I got on Vinyl for Christmas this year...

Not as good as I would have hoped for a professionally recorded album. Sounds a bit thin and bootleggy. But having said that, it's a great record and the sound is good enough to make it worthwhile. -

It really is amazing. My vocab has already increased so much. Saw this book described as a story that shattered and he is picking up the pieces and that is kind of what if feels like right now. But so far I am having no problem keeping track of characters and what is going on. Pretty amazing he wrote this book pre-internet. The constant footnote interruptions, the flipping back and forth, the looking up of words, all reflect modern life and how people operate these days with all the distractions. Liking it more than I ever thought I would. Each sentence is such a treasure trove of ideas

Wow, nice work!

Why must you judge him?

Finally got the nerve and started this baby on January 1st. So far I'm blown away and loving it. Not nearly as inpenetratable as Gravity's Rainbow which defeated me. But I do keep a dictionary nearby.

Your favorite things that ever happened at a concert you attended

A few that come to mind: Guided by voices - Universal truths tour - I know many people have experienced this probably but Robert Pollard handed me a budweiser out of the band cooler. Nash Kato - solo tour-5/17/2000- Troubadour - Sometime mid show he called out "Where's Blackie? I lived in a van with this guy for 15 years." Then Blackie Onassis comes out of the audience up to the stage to play drums on a few Urge Overkill tunes. At the same show I helped crowd surf Jason Schwartzman as he sang SONG 2 from Blur. He was still in headliner Phantom planet at that time. Pearl Jam - June 24, -

Based on tinnitus' review from another thread, I would really like to see Ty Segall. Parquet courts is probably the top of my list right now. Survival Knife as well.

Bummer. One of our Colorado peeps.

I'm kind of worried. Bought tickets for Sleater Kinney in February but may be moving to Pennsylvania for a job opportunity and might have to miss it.

It's such a fine line between stupid and clever.

How dare some of you question the SRV choice! Seriously though, he did lead a huge resurgence in blues music which was dying off at the time.

Nice! G&L's are quality instruments.

Some serious sales going on at the GBV store. Tons of CD's for $3, $10 vinyl: http://rockathonrecords.com/

Songs/Bands you discovered through covers of their songs

Sadly I ended up with the Tommy Movie Soundtrack instead of the Who version. Nothing quite like Oliver Reed singing. But it certainly lead me to the real thing. -

This may sound crazy but Elton Johns Pinball wizard was my entry into The Who. Hey I was 7. -
Wow. Hate to say it but I think I would be so uncomfortable that I would not enjoy it like I should.
