  1. They had the Keene Brothers album on vinyl at the local store for $25 but I was just too cheap. They did not have it on CD though. I'm probably going to regret not getting it.
  2. I almost bought that one today but the new Yo La Tengo was on sale so I went with that instead. I'll probably just end up going back tomorrow and getting it.
  3. I have just never been a fan of Live recordings of the Stones, not sure why. The Exile release could be very cool depending on what extras it has.
  4. Jesus the Rockies are streaky. 2 games behind the dodgers. They beat the crappy teams and lose to the good teams so I'm not that excited but they are making it interesting.
  5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCuQQcISZTM You have to watch this, marimba solo, shirt open to his navel, so 70's.
  6. Ok, just the part streaming on NPR. Love the Demo stuff.
  7. Yes, thank you, I fixed it! That's one problem I have with how I listen to music now. I mostly burn from my computer to a disc and I never know the damn names to any songs!
  8. This board should be renamed "Via Liverpool", just for a few weeks.
  9. Bee Gees Neil Diamond Brandy by Looking Glass No shame.
  10. With Saxophone solo by Brian Jones no less!
  11. Me and the little woman. Wow, just got a hair cut, you could show a movie on that forehead.
  12. Impossible so I'm going to cheat and say RIGHT NOW it's probably "We can work it out". I just watched the anthology DVD where they are doing that song and by the end Paul is laughing so hard at John's clowing around he can hardly stand up. Dear Prudence has to be up there, Day in the Life, here there, and everywhere. It's impossible.

It's funny, I never would have thought of Elvis as a 70's act for some reason but you can't argue with those first 3 albums. As good as it gets.
  14. The fact of the matter is, most people don't dig that deep in the mix so of course a song like "Creep" will be on here and not "fake plastic trees". I used to think our band could go into a bar and play some really cool but more obscure songs and people would eat it up. Not true. If you play "Fake plastic flowers" you might get a few nods of approval, but the minute you start playing "Creep" you are going to always get a bigger reaction. For so many people, the only exposure they get to music is from radio and these are the songs that got airlplay.
  15. I thought IPODS only played MP3, is that not the case? Seems like no matter what, you are going to have a compressed file and lose some signal. I don't actually own an IPOD but was just wondering. Too bad IPOD's can't play FLAC files.
  16. I could have just about written this list without even looking at it first. Exactly what I expected from a corporate radio station (which I assume it is because that is all about that exists anymore). Thank god for College radio.
  17. Love the close up of Iommi's hands! That guitar looks like it has some history!
  18. I actually prefer Cracker over Camper although it's close. Of course I just saw Cracker a little over a week ago so I am biased right now. In fact I just downloaded the show from the Colorado Tapers site. The new album is fantastic and sounds really strong live.
  19. Me too, that's what I love about this thread.
  20. I feel your pain, I had to go to a worthless meeting and missed my chance to get one of the few Mono sets they had at the local store. They sold out immediately the guy told me. They still had some stereo sets but I really want the Mono. As a consolation I did buy the Abbey Road disc. Wow. I never realized how amazing the bass in "She came in through the bathroom window" was. The biggest thing I notice off the bat is the bass and drums are so much more crisp. One hell of a rhythm section they had. Makes me realize I won't be happy until I get the whole set.
  21. I'm not sure there are any Cracker albums I don't like. We are pretty spoiled with Cracker shows here in Colorado since Johnny lives in Ft. Collins. He plays around quite a bit with his solo projects as well. I have to agree, the new album sounds really good live and I think is some of their strongest work since the first several albums.
  22. I was just going to look up where it might be playing when I saw this, thanks so much. Looks like I am on for 9/18. So looking forward to it.
  23. Always nice when Colorado State beats Colorado.
