  1. That does not really narrow it down. Have you googled it? I came up with "Who threw the whiskey in the well" by Champion Jack Dupree.

    Record Store Day

I stopped in a little record store in Ft. Collins the other day and was looking through the vinyl. The owner came over and was telling me cool facts about all the different bands I was looking at. His passion for the music just came through. Got a used Flash and the Pan vinyl that I could never find anywhere for $4. Independent record stores are the best.
  3. I have the Baroness "Red album" and it is really good. I think I like it better than the Mastodon. Have not heard anything else from them. Never heard High on Fire either.
  4. Vol. 4 is easily my favorite Sabbath. I remember reading it was their Cocaine album which is pretty obvious considering "Snowblind". I'm trying to teach my daughter the chords to "Laguna Sunrise" just so I can play along.
  5. Yeah, I definitely thought of you as I was sitting there. I was up shopping for music equipment and just stopped at a random bar for a beer. It was beautiful.
  6. I was at a bar in Fort Collins and watching the Red Sox game. The bartender was blasting the 1982 New Years eve show from his IPOD. Sounded really good.
  7. I apologize if this has been done before but I did try searching. Here is one:

    Wilco DVD

You put it very well. I know many will disagree but watching this film cemented in my mind the fact that this is the best line up Wilco has ever had. It was interesting that Jeff said that the band could probably handle a change, as long as it was not John.
  9. The new album sounds like Sabbath era Ozzy Ozbourne fronting a sped up "Louder than Love" era Soundgarden. That lead singer is a freak.
  10. I remember there was an article in Rolling Stone after he died where the writer was saying how they heard on the news that a Popular blonde haired singer was found dead in his home. They looked at each other and said "Oh lord, please let it be Beck!". It was kind of funny at the time because at that point Beck had not really done much. Not sure why that sticks in my head.
  11. That would imply he meant the song more as tribute than parody.
  12. This guy has some interesting stuff, some great lyrics. Jamey Johnson
  13. Holy shit! Is it wrong that I'm wearing a pair of Blue Suede Cons right now?
  14. My point exactly. I thought it was well known that Bob Newhart was based in Chicago and that's obviously why Wilco chose that music. Maybe it was not as well known as I thought.
  15. They put out 3 albums in a year? What an awkward interview.
  16. Still jazzed after seeing the Wilco movie last night!
  17. La Villa Strangiato is just amazing musicianship on all levels. RUSH has always been odd for me. I always hated their albums when they were released, then a few years later I really started enjoying them. Their output from the 90's on has not been stellar though.
  18. I was right about the same age as him as well when he died and was a huge Nirvana fan. The day they found him, we got off the graveyard shift and were drinking at a bar in Berkeley CA. Got cut off there, I guess the bartender didn't like serving whiskey shots at 7AM to us. We went over to a mexican restaurant to keep drinking and saw the news on a TV. I was stunned, and extremely drunk. Instead of going home we continued to drink and wander around the Berkeley Marina in a haze. Got home some time that night. One of those "Where were you" moments for me.
  19. I just watched the final episode of season 5. Fuuuuuuuuuuck.
