  2. Even Romney's self touted stepping in and saving the Olympics required a 2.7 billion dollar bailout from the government (a large chunk of which went to pork barrel projects for his cronies in Utah). And yet that seems to get a complete pass whenever he brings it up. Not sure there has ever been a more hypocritical candidate for president.

Yay, Settlers of Cataan! On another note, saw this guy in Boulder on Saturday, I like his sense of humor:
  4. I listened to "Angels and Fuselage" on an airplane once and it creeped me the hell out.
  5. My daughters first show was also Wilco and she seemed to really enjoy it and has seen them about 3 times now. But over all I think she enjoyed the Deadmau5 concert I took her to much more. I was definitely "the old guy at the club" for that one. I have to admit, the enjoyment of watching people on stage playing a macbook escapes me.
  6. More importantly than gas prices, we get to vote to legalize Marijuana here in Colorado!
  7. Just saw them last week. Not much in the way of stage presence or anything but sounded great live. Not a band prone to stage banter.
  8. At the end of the day do most americans care more about gas prices than the environment? Romney's so proud of pushing for this pipeline from Canada which is just an absolute environmental disaster waiting to happen, not to mention the serious increase in CO2 to the atmosphere. Nobody seems willing to point that out. This is an honest question as in my world that seems to be a good reason not to do it. But there seems to be a drill anywhere anytime attitude that gets a pass in debates. Even Obama proudly stated that they have enough pipelines to wrap around the earth. I thought his refusa
  9. Really? No "Living on a thin line" yet? Ok, that's on my list. Gonna need some time for the other 9.
  10. Another Giants/A's series? Another Earthquake? Could happen.
  11. Has to be in my top 10 favorite songs of all time!
  12. Well if this counts so does: The Clash - The Magnificent 7 Faith no more - Epic Rage against the machine I guess I have a bunch more than I would have thought. I do have a few Roots CD's too.
  13. The Besnard lakes are the roaring night
  14. Oh man, watched the David Bowie episode on an airplane and felt like an idiot I was laughing so hard.
  15. Thought this was interesting. ‘John Lennon Letters’ Reveal Bitterness Toward George Martin As Well as McCartney http://music.yahoo.com/blogs/stop-the-presses/john-lennon-letters-reveal-bitterness-toward-george-martin-192300104.html
  16. Maybe, just maybe if one of them is willing to blow Jann Wenner.
  17. Grateful Dead - Made the assumption that it was hours of endless and boring noodling with no decent songs. Then I actually listened to them.
  18. Loved it although I'm a fairly recent convert to the Grateful Dead so I'm kind of like a Born again on the subject. And I only saw GD at the Bill Graham tribute concert so don't have much to compare it too either. But having said that, I was blown away at the China Cat --->I know you rider. And I loved hearing Dark Star live. Wish I could have hit all 3 nights actually.
  19. I guess I see it as a nice Laurel canyon sounding album with some great melodies. I agree it's mellow and inoffensive but I don't see that as a bad thing, maybe that's what I'm in the mood for right now. Great melodies, some beautiful guitar work, maybe a bit more polished sounding but it's working for me. Wouldn't say it's their best work but I don't see it as a big drop off from previous work. But I certainly respect the other points of view. Edit: The strange thing is, the best song on the album is probably the title track which only appears to be on the bonus disc.
