  1. Wow, that's really, really cool!
  2. Mark Lanegan with openers Sean Wheeler & Zander Schloss
  3. I have always had the feeling that Dave would be easier to get along with than Eddie although I'm sure Dave is plenty annoying to be around for large chunks of time. Maybe now that Eddie is clean that is not so much the case.
  4. There was a hipster looking guy at one of the Laker games sitting behind the announcer with that exact same Joy Division shirt on. The hipsters seem to love the Joy Division apparel.
  5. We are actually going to Scotland in early June so I am taping these shows to watch with the entire family. Can't wait. The daughter is off to college this year so in case this is our last real family vacation we decided to take a l trip in the land of Haggis.
  6. I just thought this was cool. The mini moog. Not sure how to make this work in my decor: http://woouf.com/en/coleccion/
  7. So I just read in Rolling Stone that they are releasing 1000's of Owsley "Bear" Stanley recordings that have been sitting in a vault all this time. Everything from the Dead to Jefferson Airplane, Janis, Miles Davis, Johnny Cash. Anybody know anything about this? Are these new and previously unavailable shows? Curious to see what comes out of this.
  8. Just got this one myself. Picks up right where Teen Dream left off. Love it so far.
  9. That is awesome. Although I didn't do vows for the wedding. Actually our 21st anniversary is 2 days after my birthday so that's not a bad idea to focus on that. Maybe I could write a song for her. And then again there is always diamonds.
  10. Giving it a first run through finally.
  11. Anybody interested in touring the Napa Valley of Beer in Boulder, feel free to PM me and I will see what I can do to give you a tour, seriously.
  12. Yeah, she's a keeper. Except now I have to figure out something to do for her by July. Thanks! (although B-day not until May 30).
  13. Apparently my wife just got me the Tweedy SG for my birthday! Picture of myself playing Impossible Germany (badly) to follow as I don't have it yet. Looking forward to the thin neck which is so different from my other guitars, and the vintage sound!
  14. This will probably appeal to several people here. Thumb your way around John Peel's record collection! http://thespace.org/content/s000004u/albums/ Article about collection: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/music_blog/2012/05/flipping-through-john-peel-record-collection.html
  15. I'm going both nights! Would love to buy anyone here a beer!
  16. I thought Corin Tuckers solo album was pretty good too. But yeah, that Sleater stuff was just fantastic.
  17. I'm 43 years old and learned everything I know from Allman, Hendrix, Page, Beck. No need to dig anything up. Our band plays Southbound, Whipping Post, Melissa, Dreams, and about 10 other Allman songs. My list of greatest guitarists ever would have Allman way up on the list. But I still get tired of the same list of guitarists as if time stopped in 1975. And I'm not sure what "outplay" means. I doubt Duane Allman could play "Expressway to yr skull" for shit. Just as Thurston probably couldn't whip out "in memory of Elizabeth Reed" worth a damn. So what?
  18. I'm a big fan of spiral cut Hamm.
  19. Wow Bosco, absolutely beautiful guitars.
  20. I love this list! If for no other reason than it does not trot out the same tired Hendrix, Page, Clapton, Beck, Santana, Allman... as every other. This list is as silly and as equally valid as any other Greatest guitarists list. Including Malkmus, PJ Harvey, Andy Gill makes it at least more interesting.
  21. That footage of his mother was heartbreaking. Things must be pretty bleak if you are willing to put your relatives through that.
  22. Ok, it was last night, but Delta Spirit was really, really good.
