Very true. Springsteen is someone I have only really heard on the radio. So that would pretty much be Born to run (which I do like), Hungry Heart, most of the Born in the USA album. Dancing in the dark, etc... I learned Thunder Road on guitar for a band I was in, as well as Atlantic city. Certainly some clever lyrics and things but nothing that made me want to go back. I respect his musicianship and can see the talent there. I think it's something about the saxophone and tinkly piano sound that just does not do it for me.

Ok, I'm going to say it. At the risk of alienating Crow Daddy and many others forever: Bruce Springsteen. I don't own any and have never really listened to him. Our band did "Adam raised a Cain" and I liked that but nothing has really grabbed me. Rolling Stone has a jizz-fest over everything he puts out but I just don't get it and never have.

Ok, I did engage in a bit of hyperbole, like most good bands, the sum is greater than the parts and you can't judge based on solo material. What I do know is the post Waters Pink Floyd albums are a blight on the catalog and they had no business carrying on without Roger at that point (and keeping the name). I find it crazy to put him behind Wright for contributions pre-wall though. The lyrics were all his (at least from about Dark side on), the concepts were all his, and a majority of the music. But I agree, it took all of them to make Dark side and Animals what they were. I fully admit

I thought so too. Here is what I found:

Very true. FInal Cut was basically a Roger Waters solo album with an occasional sweet guitar solo by Gilmour. I love Gilmour but it's clear when you listen to the post Roger Floyd albums and the various solo albums who the real creative force was in the band.

I thought this was interesting. I know it's similar to other threads we have had but what the heck. Especially since someone mentions Wilco as their own personal blind spot. Musical blind spots: http://www.npr.org/b...cal-blind-spots

I taped Austin City Limits on saturday and it turned out to be an old episode with Gomez and The head and the heart. Dammit!

I have never liked Madonna but actually thought it was a fairly entertaining halftime show, although I had minimal expectations. Don't really care about lip syncing in this case as I don't really take Madonna that seriously to begin with. Way better than the black eyed peas last year. Did Fleetwood Mac already do a half time show? They seem like an obvious choice.

http://sasquatchfestival.com/lineup# I really, really want to go.

Ryan had to delay his show until tomorrow night due to snow. I may actually be able to go!

Ok, I'm intrigued, what the hell is it. Can't quite make it out.

There is also a transcription of "I Might" in that issue as well if anybody is interested. Unfortunately it's not fully tabbed out but it's a cut above some of the half page transcriptions they have done in the past.

Shit holds up.

Same here, can't believe I missed it. Kept checking back for tickets to be released but no luck. Looks like a great show.

The first post should be the link, I don't think there is a list yet but I imagine it will be soon.

Holy shit. Thanks for scheduling the rest of my evening.

I have not heard anything but I suspect announcements will be coming soon. I have noticed the crowds getting bigger and bigger every year so I'm sure like Christmas, things will start showing up earlier and earlier. I learned my lesson and know right where to go this year. But yeah, there is still stuff available from last year. I still have not seen a Big Star 3rd for sale anywhere though. Since Iggy is the ambassador, maybe there will be some "Raw Power" colored vinyl or something coming out.
