Nice to see a South Dakota girl make good, they don't tend to pump out a lot of musicians. (at least I think that is where she is from). I'm going to have to take a listen to this. I just picked up the Saadiq album at Target after listening to it constantly on NPR. Loving that album.

Yeah, they are still an "event band" for me. I will go out of my way to set aside some strict headphone/no distraction time when this new album shows up.

Not their greatest work but there are some gems on here. I'll be you is still one of the catchiest songs ever written. Achin to be, Rock and roll ghost, but having said that, I probably won't buy the vinyl.

Man, I caught up through episode 4, didn't get to see the last episode yet. I'm really happy with how they are doing this show. Great casting job, great look to the show, it's exceeding my high expectations already. I did notice that the 3 of us that were watching that had read the books seem to be liking it more than the 1 person who never read the books (although he does like it). It's hard for me to judge how hard it is to follow without having read the books. There are so many families/alliances to keep track. I love that "the mountain that rides" just made an appearance! I hear

I was kind of surprised they didn't have Blackie back in the band. I saw a Nash Kato solo show at the Troubadour (many years ago) and he invited Blackie up out of the audience to play a couple tunes. They seemed genuinely warm to each other. But I guess a few songs is different from an album and a tour.

Speaking of flipping guitars to other guys, what is the best way to sell a guitar? I have never actually tried to sell one as I tend to get attached to them. But for me guitars are for playing and I have really negleged these 2 (Vaccaro Generator X and a G & L Rampage). Actually I have not decided if I can part with the rampage. I supposed Craigs list is the way to go but I prefer not to have strangers coming over and wheeling and dealing. I don't mind making a bit less if it saves me a hassle. Pawn shop? Consignment at a guitar store? E-bay?

Yeah, I struggle with some of these old guitars. Teisco Del Reys and harmonies and things. They can be so hard to keep in tune and even when they are, the intonation is so bad it still sounds out of tune. With some work you can get them working fine but I'm lazy and I don't want to be a guitar tech just to play music. And yet I'm always looking on Ebay for deals on them.

I am loving the new album and that desk concert was amazing. Taylor guitars should see if they can feature that prominantly in their advertising.

It's getting so you don't want to buy a record when it first comes out because you know a few months later the deluxe copy with the extras comes out. I just wish they would offer the basic and the deluxe version at the same time.
